The John Report: WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2026 Review
This is WWE NXT Vengeance Day, featuring Joe Hendry facing Ricky Saints, Blake Monroe taking on Jaida Parker, Izzi Dame against Taum Paxley, and more.
NXT Vengeance Day is the first NXT PLE of the year, which is usually held in February, but it was moved to March this year. They have five matches scheduled for the show, and it’s taking place at the WWE PC in Orlando, where most of the NXT TV episodes take place.
I missed it live because I had plans. I wrote this review on Sunday morning. Let’s get to it.
WWE Vengeance Day
From WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida
Saturday, March 7, 2026
There was some pre-show walking shown of NXT superstars, including Ricky Saints, Joe Hendry, Tatum Paxley, Izzi Dame, Kelani Jordan, and Lola Vice, who has a nice car.
A video package aired to set up Vengeance Day.
Dion Lennox was waiting in the parking lot for Tony D’Angelo since they had a match during the show.
The commentary team was Vic Joseph and Booker T, as usual. Mike Rome was the ring announcer.
Blake Monroe made her glamorous entrance for the first match of the show. Jaida Parker was up next, and the fans loved her as usual with “Miss Parker” chants. It’s a new song for Parker.
Street Fight: Blake Monroe vs. Jaida Parker
The decision must happen in the ring. There are no rules except that. They have kendo sticks taped to the ropes and other weapons around the ring.
It started out as a brawl right away as they exchanged punches. They went to the floor where Paker wanted a table, Blake stopped that and then Parker hit a suplex on the floor. Blake got an umbrella and hit Parker with it a few times. Blake put some chairs into the ring and put a table under the ring to piss off the fans. They went into the ring with Blake hitting a neckbreaker. Blake set up a chair against the ropes and Parker slammed Blake into the chair that was against the ropes. Parker hit Blake with kendo sticks to the back. They left the ring where Parker tackled Blake into the commentary table. Parker pulled out a table on the floor and sent Blake into the steel steps. Parker charged, Blake moved and Parker hit the steel steps with her knee/hip. Ouch. Back in the ring, Blake went up top and hit a missile dropkick for two. Blake used a kendo stick to drive Parker into the mat for a two count. Blake brought a trash can into the ring, Parker went after her and then Blake trapped Parker against the turnbuckle. Blake slammed the back of Parker into a chair. Blake mocked Parker’s high step action and hit a running hip attack into a chair against Parker against the turnbuckle for a two count. Blake grabbed a necklace of pearls and punched Parker with it for a two count. Blake used a kendo stick for a crossface submission, but Parker fought out of that.
Parker used a kendo stick to hit Blake in the back a few times. Parker ran over Blake with shoulder tackles. Parker kicked Blake in the ribs and Parker hit a Blockbuster off the ropes. Blake bailed to the floor. Parker kicked the trash can that Blake was holding in her hands. Blake used a trash can to hit Parker in the back. Blake put a bag into the ring. Blake had a brick, but Parker hit her with a chair to the ribs and a chair to the back. Parker put Blake on a table that was on the floor. Parker went onto the bottom turnbuckle run and jumped off with a hip drop on Blake! It ended up looking like a double leg drop onto Blake on the floor through the table. Back in the ring, Parker hit Hipnotic for a two count. Good nearfall. Blake sent Parker into a kendo stick, then a headbutt and a knee smash under the jaw for a two count. Blake sent Parker into the turnbuckle so that Parker took the bump sternum-first. Blake dumped out a bag of diamonds into the ring. Parker hit an elbow and went to the middle turnbuckle. Blake threw some diamonds into Parker’s face. Blake did a headscissors from the turnbuckle into the diamonds into the ring. Blake hit her Glamour Shot (double arm DDT) onto the diamonds in the ring for the pinfall win. It went 12:58.
Winner by pinfall: Blake Monroe
Analysis: ***1/2 A fast-paced hard-hitting match that felt like a fight the moment the bell rang. They used a lot of different, broke a table and then Blake was able to finish off Parker with the Glamour Shot into the diamonds. It was a big win for Monroe, who should be in title contention for either of the women’s titles in NXT. I feel bad for Parker losing, but it’s one of those matches where somebody is going to get a push and a title shot. With that said, I think the loser in this case, Parker, still has a bright future as well. I liked the weapon usage throughout the match. They sold the moves well and they didn’t rush through it. Good showing by both ladies for sure.
A commercial aired for WrestleMania 42.
There were some profile videos of Evolve wrestlers Laynie Luck, Trill London and Harlem Lewis.
Ricky Saints approached Ethan Page in the locker room. Ricky wondered where Page was last Tuesday at the end of NXT last week. Page said he just lost the NXT North American Title that he held for almost a year. Ricky said that he needs to reclaim the NXT Title so he can be the face of the brand. Page said he remembers. Ricky wants his friend Page to help him. Page said if you need his help then he’ll be there to help. Ricky said he’ll be 2-time NXT Champion and Page can be 2-time NXT North American Champion. Ricky left and Page said “2 time” to himself with a smile.
Analysis: The obvious thing here is that Ricky Saints is trying to get Ethan Page to help him win the NXT Title, but what Ricky was saying clearly makes Page think about being NXT Champion again.
The parking lot was shown with Dion Lennox and Darkstate attacking some guy they thought it was Tony D’Angelo, but it wasn’t Tony D at first. Tony emerged with a crowbar and got into a fight with Dion. Tony slammed Dion onto the hood of a car. Tony threw a trash can at Dion, who moved and Tony’s trash can broke the windshield. They went into the building under the garage door and the rest of Darkstate was kept out of the building because Tony shut the garage door. Tony and Dion fought in the back part of he building as Dion sent Tony into a table. Tony hit Dion in the ribs with some object. Darkstate’s Saquon Shugars and Osiris Griffin arrived to attack Tony D with punches. Referees showed up to try to send the wrestlers to the ring. Tony managed to fight off Dion’s buddies. Dion kicked Tony through a door and sent Tony into the locker. Tony sent Dion into an equipment case in the backstage area. Tony had a hold of Dion outside the building again surrounded by developmental talent. Shugars and Griffin were there to attack again, but the OTM boys Price & Nima were there to stop the group attack. Tony and Dion finally went into the ringside area by crashing through the thin piece of cardboard backstage. When both guys got into the ring, the bell rang.
Analysis: It was an entertaining fight between Tony and Dion in the backstage area before they made their way into the ring. I think it was a smart move to have them fight in the parking lot because it’s been such a personal rivalry. Also, having OTM show up when they did worked because it gave Tony some allies to take out the Darkstate guys and that allowed the Tony-Dion match to really begin.
Tony D’Angelo vs. Dion Lennox
The bell rang and they exchanged punches. Dion sent Tony into the turnbuckle. Dion went for a running kick, Tony moved and Dion kicked the turnbuckle. Dion trapped Tony against the turnbuckle and hit him with some punches. Dion hit a spinebuster for two. Tony hit Dion with three German Suplex in a row, and a fourth release German Suplex. Tony hit another release German Suplex. Tony hit a torture rack neckbreaker. Tony clotheslined Dion over the top to the floor. Tony charged, Dion moved and Tony went crashing into the steel steps. Dion tried to smash the steel steps on Tony’s left foot, but Tony moved out of the way so Dion hit the other half of the steel steps. There was a loud noise. Dion tossed Tony over the barricade where the fans were. The referee was out on the floor with them instead of counting. Dion suplexed Tony off the barricade through the table at ringside. The fans chanted “Holy S**t” for that with good reason. Great spot. The fans chanted, “This is awesome” for them.
Analysis: The referee could have counted them out for the time they were on the floor, and it could be a countout, but the story is that they are letting the guys fight. I think they could have booked a stipulation to the match to allow them to fight more like this, but it was announced as a regular match.
They went back into the ring as the referee was counting them out. Dion bounced Tony off the top turnbuckle and hit a sitout Powerbomb for a two count. Tony fired back up with a headbutt. Tony countered a Dion move and Tony bounced off the ropes, leading to a Spear. Tony hit a massive Spinebuster for the pinfall win. The match time was 7:04.
Winner by pinfall: Tony D’Angelo
Analysis: *** That rating is for the match that was in the ring, but if you include the fight in the parking lot and behind the building, I’d say about 4 stars. I really enjoyed it as a fight that felt personal, and they told a great story with a very physical match. Dion has been in bigger matches recently but hasn’t gotten wins, which is unfortunate for him. Still, it was the right decision to have Tony get the win. Both guys should be proud of their effort. It was a very entertaining fight.
Tony D’Angelo stood in the middle of the ring with the fans chanting “Tony” for him.
Analysis: I think Tony D’Angelo is on his way to becoming NXT Champion this year. I’m not sure when, but after four plus years in NXT, it’s finally going to happen for him this year.
A commercial aired for WWE 2K26. It was actually a pretty good commercial.
There was a video segment about the Izzi Dame-Tatum Paxley storyline. They were friends, but Dame was just using Paxley, which cost Paxley the NXT Women’s Title. Now Dame is the NXT Women’s North American Champion, and Paxley is aiming for her title.
NXT Women’s North American Championship: Izzi Dame (w/Shawn Spears & Niko Vance) vs. Tatum Paxley
The fans love Paxley, of course, while Dame is hated. Dame has been the champion for 60 days and this is only her second televised title defense.
Paxley was very aggressive early on and knocked Dame out of the ring with a dropkick. Paxley jumped off the steel steps with a cannonball onto Dame. Dame tackled Paxley into the steel steps. Dame sent Paxley into the ring apron. Back in the ring, Paxley hit an elbow drop. Paxley hit a cross body block against the turnbuckle. Paxley got an inside cradle for a two count and another rollup attempt. Dame hit a clothesline. Dame kicked Paxley in the ribs and then Dame kicked Paxley in the head. Dame hit a running kick to knock Paxley down. Dame hit Paxley with a knee to the ribs to take control. After Paxley got a pin attempt, Dame hit another knee to the ribs. Dame stomped on Paxley a bit and Dame got a two count. They fought over an abdominal stretch and Paxley hit a cross body block onto Dame to knock her down. Paxley hit Dame with forearms, but then Dame got her knees up. Dame hit a backbreaker followed by a senton splash for a two count. Dame applied a modified Boston Crab to bend Paxley awkwardly. Paxley kicked Dame away and Paxley applied a Boston Crab submission. Paxley shoved Dame into the ring post. Paxley hit a superkick into the jaw. Paxley kicked Dame in the head and Paxley hit a German Suplex. Paxley hit a step up enziguri to Dame’s head. Paxley hit a flipping kick to the head for a two count. Paxley went up top, Dame went for a superplex, Paxley countered it and went for a 450 Splash. Dame avoided the splash and Dame hit a running dropkick for a two count. Great nearfall there. The fans chanted “Tatum” as both women were down on the mat, selling the struggle.
They exchanged some strikes. Paxley sent Dame into the knee and Paxley hit a sitout spinebuster. Paxley went up top and hit a 450 Splash for a two count. It wasn’t a perfect execution of the move since her feet hit the mat, but it ended up looking okay. Dame sent Paxley to the apron, Paxley kicked Dame in the head and Dame came back with another kick. Dame lifted up Paxley into a Cutter for a two count. Dame was on the apron, Paxley delivered a kick and Paxley jumped over the top with a Powerbomb onto the floor. Ouch. That wasn’t done all smoothly in one motion, but they sold it well on the floor. The referee was counting as Paxley put Dame into the ring, Dame stared at Spears and then Paxley went into the ring. Dame hit a Spinebuster for a two count. Dame went for a Powerbomb, but Paxley countered it with a hurricanrana into a pin for two. Paxley punched Spears on the apron. Dame went for a punch, and Paxley avoided it, so Dame hit Spears on the apron. Paxley got a rollup for two. Dame hit a Codebreaker and Paxley did a backflip out of it. The fans were going crazy as Paxley hit a spinning kick. Paxley hit the Cemetery Drive for the pinfall win AND NEW NXT Women’s North American Champion. It went 15:25. The fans were going crazy for this and were so happy for Paxley.
Winner by pinfall AND NEW NXT Women’s North American Champion: Tatum Paxley
Analysis: ***3/4 That was awesome. I didn’t expect a match nearly four stars, but it was at that level. I really enjoyed that match, with Paxley winning the title and probably ending the feud—unless they have another match with a stipulation. It was probably the best match I’ve seen Dame have and one of the best for Paxley too. Dame has truly improved, and Paxley is terrific as the underdog babyface who can do a lot in the ring. There were times when Dame was in control for a few minutes, but Paxley kept coming back for more, and it was impressive to see Paxley show the heart of a babyface by hitting many big moves throughout the match. They built a lot of chemistry, and I’m sure they went through the match and delivered a strong performance.
Tatum Paxley celebrated her victory with the NXT Women’s Title. She went into the crowd to share the moment with the fans. By winning the NXT Women’s North American Title, Tatum Paxley becomes the second woman to hold both that title and the NXT Women’s Title. Stephanie Vaquer is the only other woman to accomplish this.
Analysis: I’m happy for Tatum Paxley. She has come a long way as a character, and it was the right way for her to end the feud by taking the title.
Kelani Jordan was shown getting ready for her match.
OTM’s Lucien Price and Bronco Nima were interviewed by Blake Howard. Nima said that what they did was not for Tony. Nima mentioned they did it because Darkstate has been a dark cloud hanging over NXT. Price said that actions come with a price. Price also said that yesterday’s price is not today’s price. Nima talked about how they aren’t done, and Price said it’s time to go eat.
Analysis: I wanted to see OTM take the Tag Team Titles from Darkstate, but The Vanity Project already won the titles, so it takes away some of the luster from the OTM-Darkstate feud.
NXT is coming to Houston on Tuesday, March 17th. I like it when they get out of the WWE PC in Orlando.
NXT Women’s Title Announcement
The interim NXT General Manager, Robert Stone, introduced NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne and her Fatal Influence allies Fallon Henley, who is the Women’s Speed Champion, and Lainey Reid.
Jacy Jayne boasted about being a great champion who criticized fans for thinking she was a transitional champion. Jayne said she understands how this business works because she has experienced many ups and downs. She discussed how there have been times when she was in the locker room with women who were released, and she admits she was worried she could be next. Jayne mentioned that last year she was in a tag team match at Stand & Deliver, and now she’s the NXT Women’s Champion, so she believes she should be in the main event at Stand & Deliver. Jayne said don’t be surprised if she’s main eventing WrestleMania. I’m not so sure about that. She also said it doesn’t matter who the champion is because she’s coming after them, too. Jayne bragged about beating Sol Ruca in six seconds. She said she was going to beat Zaria, but Ruca ruined the match. Stone commented that the goal here is to find the next challenger.
Zaria showed up wearing an outfit that said “Sol’s Ex” on it. Zaria said that she’s used to Sol being selfish, but Jayne is just delusional. Zaria claimed that the only reason she isn’t NXT Women’s Champion is because of Sol, and she deserves a shot at that title. Henley said that Zaria has nobody to blame but herself. Henley mentioned that she helped Jayne win the NXT Women’s Championship and she’s not throwing that in her face. Reid stated that she’s helped Jayne keep her title. Reid added that when Zaria gets opportunities, she fails. Zaria said they always do eye rolls at each other because they don’t know what the other one is going to do.
Sol Ruca interrupted and received a huge ovation from the fans. She said she saw two souls that will be hers again very soon. Sol mentioned that you might think you’re at the top, but how can someone who’s in the lead be so desperate to prove they’re good enough? Sol addressed Zaria, saying she trusted her, then accused Zaria of forgetting how well Sol knows her. Sol claimed she knows how to break Zaria’s heart. She stated that nobody will touch that NXT Women’s Championship because it is hers.
Stone spoke up with the women in the ring. Stone announced that a week from Tuesday, live from Houston, Texas, it’s Jayne vs. Ruca vs. Zaria for the NXT Women’s Title in a triple threat match. Jayne wasn’t happy about it, while Ruca was thrilled.
Fatal Influence attacked Sol, and then Zaria pulled the trio away so she could go after Sol. Jayne turned Zaria around. Sol hit a Soul Snatcher on Zaria, and then Reid delivered a knee smash to Sol. Jayne and Fatal Influence stood tall.
Analysis: This could have been an announcement on NXT TV instead of on a PLE, but I get that they want to give the NXT Women’s Title some more attention. I thought the triple threat match would be at Stand & Deliver next month, but they are doing it a few weeks before that. Perhaps the reason for that is that the men’s NXT Title match will be a triple threat, so they don’t want to be repetitive.
There was an interview with Kelani Jordan to talk about her NXT Underground match with Lola Vice. Jordan talked about how she has had a long history with Vice, going back to when they met in the finals of the NXT Breakout Tournament in 2023. Jordan complained about Vice kicking Jordan out of the locker room. Jordan kept on whining about Vice and how she treated her. Jordan was confident, even though Vice is undefeated in Underground Matches. Jordan bragged about injuring Vice’s right hand as a strategic move. Jordan said that Lola finally won a championship as an AAA Mixed Tag team Champion, but Jordan has already done that, and she didn’t need a man to do it. Jordan also mentioned getting trained by Shayna Baszler for the Underground Match because Jordan is smart and she wants to be trained by the best.
Analysis: The next match is the Underground Match, so they needed to fill some time to take the ropes off the ring and set up for Underground, so that’s why they aired an interview before the match. Jordan has done a good job as a heel in the last year, but I think she’s better as a babyface. Just my opinion after watching her for several years now.
Charlie Dempsey was seen talking to Tavion Heights backstage. Lexis King (Brian Pillman’s son) entered with his group, which included Urijah Connors (Fit Finlay’s son), Arianna Grace (Santino’s daughter), and Stacks. King said their fathers—Brian Pillman, Fit Finlay, Santino Marella, and William Regal—are champions, and they are built for this. Dempsey (William Regal’s son) didn’t seem interested. Heights suggested he team up with Dempsey against Lexis and Urijah, and Dempsey agreed.
Analysis: I think the obvious thing will be that Dempsey will turn on his buddy Heights to join the Lexis King group of wrestlers, who are the children of former wrestlers. Perhaps Dempsey will be the leader of the group.
There was a video package about the Kelani Jordan-Lola Vice match.
NXT Underground Match: Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan
No counts, no pinfalls. The only way to win is by knockout, TKO, or submission. The ring was surrounded by developmental talent and some other NXT wrestlers. There were no ropes on the ring. Lola is one-half of the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions. Lola’s father and other family members were at ringside. Vice is 3-0 in Underground Matches.
Vice went for an armbar right away, but Jordan got out of it. Jordan worked over Vice with punches. Vice went for a sleeper and it looked like it was locked in, but Jordan was able to get out of it. Jordan was pulling on Vice’s injured right hand. Vice got back up and kicked Jordan. They went by the ring post and Jordan rammed Vice’s right hand into the ring post. Jordan hit an overhead suplex across the ring. Jordan hit a knee drop on Vice’s right hand. Jordan took off the small glove that was on Vice’s right hand and Jordan hit a knee drop on the right hand. Jordan kicked Vice in the ribs. Jordan hit a moonsault onto Vice. Jordan rammed Vice’s right hand into the ring post two more times. Vice used her legs to send Jordan into the ring post. Vice worked over Jordan with lefty punches in the ribs and Vice hit a German Suplex. Vice worked over Jordan with kicks to the body. Vice hit a pump kick that knocked Jordan off the apron onto some guys on the floor. Jordan pulled a guy in front of her, so Vice bumped onto a dude on the floor. Jordan shoved Vice into the barricade and Jordan trash talked Vice’s father in the crowd. The fans booed. Jordan went back into the ring, Vice blocked a kick, Jordan did a back flip and Vice did a spinning back fist to knock Jordan out. Vice punched Jordan a few times and Vice was declared the winner. It went 6:40.
Winner by knockout: Lola Vice
Analysis: *** A fight that Vice won decisively with the spinning back fist, even though Jordan worked on the right hand throughout the match. I didn’t think Jordan had a chance to win here, but she put up a fight and looked credible for most of the match. Vice sold the right-hand injury, used other limbs as weapons, and then found a way to use the spinning back fist to win. It likely ends this feud.
After the match, Lola celebrated with her dad and family in the crowd.
An NXT Chronicle video aired about Joe Hendry. This aired on TV a few weeks ago. They had to set up the ring again, so it made sense to air a video here.
NXT Stand & Deliver is on Saturday, April 4, in St. Louis. That’s the biggest NXT show of the year, which is now two weeks before WrestleMania, and it’s also against the NCAA College Basketball finals. If it were me, I’d put it on Sunday night instead and not go against those big basketball games.
Jacy Jayne, the NXT Women’s Champion, complained to her Fatal Influence allies Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid backstage. Reid said that Jayne will find a way to win. Reid suggested she face Sol Ruca on Tuesday. Jayne wanted Henley to face Zaria, but Henley didn’t want to because she’s defending her Speed Title in Houston. Jayne said Reid has to make sure that Sol doesn’t make it to Houston.
This Tuesday on NXT:
* Women’s Speed Tournament Final: Thea Hail vs. Wren Sinclair
* Jasper Troy vs. Sean Legacy vs. Eli Knight
* Tavion Heights & Charlie Dempsey vs. Lexis King & Urijah Connors
A video package aired to set up the Joe Hendry-Ricky Saints match.
Ricky Saints was up first as the challenger. The crowd booed them since he’s a cocky heel. The NXT Champion Joe Hendry was loved by the crowd. Booker T was singing along with his theme song, which isn’t a pleasant sound, but it does make me laugh a bit.
NXT Championship: Joe Hendry vs. Ricky Saints
Ricky started out with punches, but Joe came back with punches of his own. They ran around the ring and Ricky punched Joe so that Joe’s right foot was trapped in the ropes, which led to Ricky hitting some cheap shots. Ricky worked over Joe with punches. Joe came back with a shoulder tackle and chops to the chest. Joe gave Ricky a hiptoss across the ring. Ricky avoided a suplex, Joe sent Ricky to the apron and Joe hit a delayed vertical suplex for two. Ricky hit a neckbreaker for a two count. Ricky tried for another move, but Joe hit a neckbreaker of his own. Ricky did a rope walk routine until Joe kicked the rope and knocked Ricky down to the floor. They left the ring, so Ricky hit Joe in the throat, and Ricky sent Joe hard into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Ricky got a two count. Ricky hit a neckbreaker, followed by a running kick for two. Joe went for a running attack, but Ricky hit an elbow smash. Ricky worked over Joe with punches and a boot to the throat to knock Joe out of the ring. Ricky slammed Joe into the commentary table hood. They went back in the ring so Ricky could hit a belly-to-back suplex for two. Ricky rolled through for a two count. Ricky hit a running dropkick against the turnbuckle for a two count again. Ricky hit a fallaway slam that is a move that Joe does. Ricky turned around to face the camera like Joe, too, so Joe hit a Spear to put a stop to the mockery.
Joe fired up with punches as the fans chanted “We Believe” for Joe. Ricky was sent into the ropes, and Joe hit a fallaway slam, followed by a stare into the camera. Ricky hit an elbow, Joe caught him and hit a Powerbomb for a two count. Joe worked over Ricky with uppercuts and Ricky went for a backslide pin, followed by an Air Raid Crash slam for two. Ricky slapped on a Crossface submission, but Joe rolled out of it. Ricky applied the guillotine choke and Joe was selling it like he was nearly passed out, but Joe kept on fighting. Joe overpowered Ricky with a suplex. The fans chanted, “We Believe” for Hendry. Ricky went for a lift, Joe got out of it, tried a move and Ricky hit a superkick. Ricky jumped off the ropes, Joe avoided it, and Joe hit an Attitude Adjustment for a two count. Word life. Joe gave Ricky a fallaway slam from the middle turnbuckle for a two count. Ricky countered a Joe move and got a rollup for two. Ricky hit a DDT for a two count. Ethan Page showed up and looked at the NXT Title at ringside. Ricky wanted Page to pass Ricky the NXT Title, but Page was looking at the title instead. Joe rolled up Ricky for two. Ricky ran the ropes and hit a Spear. Page tried to give Ricky the NXT Title, but Page tossed it too far. Joe and Ricky each reached for the NXT Title, so the r referee took the title away and Ricky hit a low blow kick. Ricky hit a Revolution DDT off the ropes for a two count. The fans bought that as a viable nearfall, so they were into the match more now. Joe went for a Standing Ovation, then Ricky nearly hit the referee, and Joe nearly hit the referee, so Joe hit a mule kick to the groin. Joe hit a Standing Ovation on Ricky for the pinfall win. It went 16:15.
Winner by pinfall: Joe Hendry
Analysis: ***1/2 A very good championship match, but it never reached the point where I’d call it great. It was the longest match of the night at just over 16 minutes, which isn’t that long, but it’s understandable for the main event to be the longest match on the card. It’s still an exciting main event with the babyface champion Hendry finding a way to retain the title. Since Hendry won the NXT Title last month in the Ladder Match, I didn’t expect him to lose it here. The presence of Ethan Page made it seem like maybe Saints would find a way to win, but this was all about Hendry securing a credible victory over a former NXT Champion.
Joe Hendy celebrated with the NXT Title while Ricky Saints was talking to Ethan Page about what went wrong. Hendry continued his celebration.
Analysis: It looks like they might go with Joe Hendry against Ethan Page at Stand & Deliver. They could also do a three-way with Hendry, Page, and Saints.
WWE NXT Vengeance Day had a runtime of 2 hours and 20 minutes on Netflix in Canada.

Final Thoughts on WWE NXT Vengeance Day
I’m going with a 7.75 out of 10.
Good show with entertaining matches throughout. I’m not going to call it some all-time great show or anything, but there was nothing bad, and I liked it. Everybody worked hard, and I think because the NXT roster works together at the WWE PC, they can lay out matches with intricate details and practice spots during the week to get it to their liking. It’s just the reality of the situation. With that said, there are a lot of talented people on the show who should be proud of their performances. Tatum Paxley really stood out to me, while Izzi Dame matched up with her very well. The Tony D’Angelo-Dion Lennox fight was set up really well, and the match was entertaining.
As far as the results go, a lot of it went as I expected with Joe Hendry keeping his NXT Title, Blake Monroe winning against Jaida Parker, Tatum Paxley ending her feud with Izzi Dame, Tony D’Angelo finally getting payback on Darkstate, and Lola Vice likely ending her feud too. Four of the five winners were babyfaces, so it was the kind of feel-good show that fans are going to like.
I don’t think the NXT brand is necessarily on fire right now, but they do have a solid roster. It’s just not as good as it was in the past when they had bigger names. That’s okay. They’re still building up talent and the stories are pretty solid most of the time.
