WWE Raw Star Officially Changes Name

WWE has made an official change to one Raw star’s name.

In recent weeks WWE fans have noticed something happening on television with commentators adding additional alliterative adjectives to several stars’ names. The idea is believed to have come from Vince McMahon who continues to oversee the creative direction of the company, although the Executive Chairman is currently on medical leave from WWE due to major surgery in recent weeks.

One of those nicknames appears to have stuck, however, as PWInsider has now reported that after weeks of using the name, Bronson Reed is now officially Big Bronson Reed. The nickname is in a similar vein to Seth Rollins becoming Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.

Rollins and Reed are far from the only two WWE stars to have a nickname become part of their official moniker with NXT North American Champion Dirty Dominik Mysterio also getting the treatment. Unofficially, WWE commentary has been throwing out alliterations in recent weeks with Santos Escobar being ‘scintillating,’ Chelsea Green being ‘cheeky’ and The Judgment Day being whatever the ‘hellions from Hades’ is meant to mean.

What has Big Bronson Reed done in WWE?

During his first spell in the company, Bronson Reed made his biggest splash as part of the NXT brand where he captured the North American Championship back in May 2021. Just a few short weeks later Reed was released from his contract before embarking on a notable spell in New Japan Pro Wrestling as JONAH.

Reed returned in early 2023 as part of the Raw brand. He last competed on the 7th of August 2023 edition of Monday Night Raw where he was defeated by Shinsuke Nakamura before Nakamura attacked Seth Rollins at the end of the night.
