WWE May Have Fired Ex-Champion Because Of Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair remains linked to Andrade’s exit days after his departure from WWE.
On September 13, the company quietly moved him to the alumni page of its website. After word spread about it, speculations began surfacing, with some even wondering if Charlotte had anything to do with it.
Flair and Andrade were together for over five years and married since 2022, before their 2024 divorce.
Andrade had returned to the promotion from AEW in January 2024 and was on SmackDown, where Charlotte Flair also performed.
He had allied with Rey Fenix, both gaining immense praise for their camaraderie. They also competed together in the highly acclaimed tag team TLC match at SummerSlam.
This is where the troubles began for Andrade. He and Fenix were scheduled to face The Wyatt Sicks for the Tag Team Championships at WWE Clash in Paris, but the plan was scrapped.
Thus, Andrade’s last appearance and match, as of this day, remains the one at SummerSlam. It was later revealed that his departure was due to multiple disciplinary issues.
Charlotte Flair Behind Andrade’s WWE Exit?
During a recent WrestleBinge podcast, the panel discussed Andrade’s departure.
Veteran American journalist Bill Apter seemingly tied the incident to Charlotte Flair, stating she may be the reason behind his firing from WWE, although not directly.
What I’ve heard is…it’s an old line, but if somebody in the company has a bug up their butt about you, you can’t scratch it out. And that’s what I heard that somebody in the company was not happy. Keep in mind, also, his ex-wife Charlotte Flair, who is a major player in that company, and she would not whoop him out of there. That wouldn’t have anything to do with her. But maybe the people in WWE are not comfortable with the two of them in the same place. [4:51 onwards]
Meanwhile, neither party has officially revealed the reason behind Andrade’s release, but he did acknowledge his release.
