A WWE legend will be staying with AEW for another year.

On the upcoming episode of his Snake Pit podcast, Jake Roberts announced that he’s signed a new one-year deal with AEW.

Roberts’ career began all the way back in 1974 and took him to promotions all over the world, although he’s best known for his work in WWE and WCW. After overcoming several serious health issues and dealing with a well-documented battle with addiction, Roberts was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014.

Jake “The Snake” joined AEW in 2019 and regularly appears alongside Lance Archer.

On the episode which is yet to be released, Roberts said he was excited to continue his All Elite journey.

“Well folks, just to let you know, you’re gonna be looking at me on AEW for another year. That’s right, they re-signed me so that’s great news. Looking forward to doing it.”

Jake Roberts Second Hall Of Famer To Sign New AEW Deal

The news comes after it was revealed Jim Ross will be staying with AEW for another year. Ross signed a new contract with the company just prior to Revolution which enabled him to call Sting’s final match.

However, for the first time, Ross has publicly admitted that the contract could be his last. Speaking on his podcast, Ross said it was “realistic” to think the contract could signal his last year as an announcer given his age and recent health issues.

As part of the new deal, Ross will only appear at pay-per-views.
