The Rock Offers Thanks To WWE Hall Of Famer

The Rock has taken the opportunity to thank a WWE Hall Of Famer for the help and support he was given during the early stages of his career.

Quite easily making the Mount Rushmore for plenty of wrestling fans and peers alike, The Rock started far away from the glitz and glamour he would soon become accustomed to during his wrestling career.

Starting out in the family business back in 1996, there was no ‘Brahma Bull’ but rather Flex Kavana looking to make waves.

At this stage Jerry Lawler, who had an association with the WWF as well, was working alongside The Rock in the United States Wrestling Association. Lawler also took over running the company in 1997.

The ties during that period led to a number of younger stars being on the same card as WWF superstars who made appearances for USWA, including the future ‘Great One’ stepping in the ring with ‘The King’.

A clip from a match between the two recently surfaced on social media, and The Rock has since taken the chance to thank Jerry Lawler for showing him the ropes when he was barely a month in to the wrestling business.

Whilst The Rock has only made sporadic WWE appearances in recent years, including his surprise match at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas, there has been plenty of speculation that he could end up lacing up the boots again to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. There is far from any confirmation around this, especially given the recent changes in the upper echelons of WWE.
