Stephanie Vaquer made a huge mistake on WWE Raw this week.

On the February 16 edition of Monday Night Raw, La Primera interrupted Liv Morgan’s backstage interview with Michael Cole. She cut a scathing promo on Morgan, verbally attacking her and questioning her credibility as a wrestler.

While going off on Morgan, Stephanie Vaquer made a statement claiming that “wrestling does not exist in Chile.” Many fans found the comment disrespectful to the nation and its wrestling industry.

Stephanie Vaquer Publicly Apologizes To Chilean Wrestlers And Fans

Following the online backlash about her controversial statement, Stephanie Vaquer logged onto her Instagram and shared an apology note on her story.

She wrote that she did not mean to make the statement and that it was a slip of the tongue. She acknowledged her mistake and sincerely apologized to Chile and to all wrestlers of Chilean heritage.

She wrote, “Today, I made a mistake when I said, ‘Wrestling doesn’t exist in Chile.’ It does exist, and we have excellent wrestlers and a great deal of talent. What I meant to say is that it didn’t exist when I emigrated from my country; at that time, professional wrestling wasn’t developed in Chile.

It was a slip of the tongue on live television. I sincerely apologize and send a huge hug to all the Chilean wrestlers who, through hard work and dedication, have made wrestling in Chile a reality today. My respects and sincere apologies.”
