Spoiler On Former WWE Star Possibly Returning At WrestleMania

A former WWE superstar could be making a surprising return for one of the biggest matches at WrestleMania 39.

The rivalry between Edge and Finn Balor goes back to June 2022 when The Judgment Day group turned on their founder, Edge. That was the night when Balor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley beat up Edge and put him through a table to set up this rivalry that will be nearly ten months old next weekend at WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

It’s rare to see a 10-month rivalry going into WrestleMania, but that’s what we have this year as Edge faces Balor in a Hell in a Cell Match.

There have been multiple matches between Edge and various members of The Judgment Day. Edge beat Priest in a main event match on Raw in Toronto, but then Balor got revenge by beating Edge in an “I Quit” Match at Extreme Rules last October.

At the most recent WWE Premium Live Event, Elimination Chamber in February, Edge & his wife Beth Phoenix got some revenge by beating Balor & Ripley in a tag team match.

In setting up their Hell in a Cell match, Balor has done a promo teasing that his “Demon” persona is going to come back. Edge was featured in a promo telling Balor to bring the “Demon” back while teasing that he had something in store for his WrestleMania rival.

According to PWInsider Elite, WWE is planning on bringing back former superstar Gangrel to Los Angeles to be part of Edge’s entrance at WrestleMania 39 and potentially watch his back during the match.

When Edge started in WWE in 1998, he was a bit of loner, but then he joined “brother” Christian and leader Gangrel in a group called The Brood. The trio was known for giving their opponents “bloodbaths” while Gangrel would drink some mysterious red liquid (with the implication that it was blood) on his way to the ring before matches.

The Brood really wasn’t together for that long because Gangrel would become associated with The Hardy Boyz in 1999 as well, but due to the group being part of the much-celebrated (and heavily watched) Attitude Era, it’s likely that Gangrel’s presence will be celebrated by WWE fans that remember The Brood fondly.
