Seth Rollins Comments On Connecting With WWE Audiences
World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has been sharing his enjoyment of working in front of WWE fans who are “having fun”.
Crowd reactions have been a big part of WWE’s premium live events in 2023 as the passion and noise heard in Canada, Puerto Rico, and England have shown just how much desire there is for WWE shows around the world.
Support for Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn has been growing on TV and across house shows, where on a recent tour across England and France where the attending fans sang out Seth Rollins entrance theme.
In Manchester, England, fans sang along for over ten minutes whilst Seth Rollins opponent The Miz stood and waited.
Rollins was a guest on Out of Character with Ryan Satin and he opened up on the relationship he has with the WWE universe.
During the interview, the Visionary detailed the difference in fan reactions before and after the pandemic, stating that he feels WWE Superstars and fans are “not taking it for granted anymore”.
“They’re having fun, and that’s the name of the game,”
“I feel like it’s really been that way for a couple of years with our audiences. I thought there was a period of time when some of the crowds we’d go to, and I’d be like, ‘Man, you sure you wanted to come to the show? You spend a lot of money to come to the show. You sure you came to have a good time?’
But lately, probably since we came back from the pandemic, people are not taking it for granted anymore, because for a year-and-a-half, we didn’t get to do that, you know? We didn’t know if we were ever going to be able to do it again.”
The Grand Slam Champion went on to discuss how he is embracing fans “partying” with him, and how fans singing helps antagonize his opponents.
“They’re saying ‘What?’ in segments that they’re bored by what you’re saying. [If] they start signing my song in parts of the show I’m not in, then we can have a different conversation. Right now, they’re partying with me, and want my opponent to get very upset about it.”
The inaugural WWE World Heavyweight and NXT Champion shared that outside of the ring, his clothing choices are not as flamboyant as his on screen persona.
Seth Rollins praised King Troi and his crew for the design of his outfits and entrances, highlighting his WrestleMania 39 attire as inspired by the WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett.
After recently being seen filming scenes for Captain America: Brave New World, Seth Rollins admitted that his current character has elements of his previous WWE persona’s and he will look to continue adapting throughout his career.
“Unless I’m doing an appearance, or something wild, I ain’t got time for all that.”
“It was almost like a pink dominatrix-like Jeff Jarrett-looking thing on me, I don’t know what was going on with that. Everything was wild. It’s to the point now where I am waiting to go as far as I can, just to see people go, ‘Okay, you’ve gone too far.'”
“I’m gonna ride this wave for as long as I can.”
“There are elements of [my past WWE characters] in this, but how it all came to be, I have no real explanation. That’s the beauty of art — it just evolves, and it becomes something different every day.”
Seth Rollins has also discussed possible challengers as his reign of World Heavyweight Champion is under threat from The Judgment Day as Finn Balor is continuing his pursuit of revenge, whilst faction member Damien Priest will be looking to cash in his Money In The Bank contract at an opportune moment.
