Ric Flair Claims “Underutilised” WWE Legend Might Have Heat With Company

Ric Flair thinks WWE isn’t getting enough out of one top star.

For much of 2025, Ric Flair has largely remained under the wrestling radar, despite still being under contract with AEW. He claims that Tony Khan’s reluctance to use him comes from a disagreement around his involvement in Sting’s retirement match in March 2024.

During an interview back in May, Flair claimed his AEW contract prevented him from attending the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and WrestleMania 41.

However, it seems he’s still been keeping an eye on the sports entertainment giant.

Ric Flair Has Interesting Take On WWE Star

During a new interview with The eScapist, Flair reiterated that he believes his daughter Charlotte is the best wrestler in the world — male or female. He added that the only person on her level is Randy Orton.

“The only person who I think is close to Charlotte, when he is on and healthy, when you think about in-ring timing and knowing where you are all the time, is Randy Orton,”

Continuing on, Flair said that Orton has become somewhat underutilised, something he puts down to The Viper’s tendency to speak his mind.

“Randy’s really underutilised these days. I don’t know why. I think maybe he made somebody mad along the way. Randy’s not afraid to say what he thinks, and that’s not always popular.”

In recent weeks, Randy Orton has found himself at war with Drew McIntyre. There had been speculation that a singles match between them would be added to Clash In Paris, but the event came and went without them.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Flair remains one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Alexa Bliss. The pair beat Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez to win the gold at SummerSlam.
