Liv Morgan Returns To WWE RAW Ring After Over Six Months

Liv Morgan is returning to the ring after missing half a year due to injury.

At WWE Survivor Series in late November, Liv Morgan made her surprising return to WWE television when she helped her on-screen boyfriend, Dominik Mysterio, beat John Cena to win back the Intercontinental Title that Dirty Dom lost to Cena a few weeks earlier.

Following her return, it was reported that WWE didn’t expect Morgan to return so soon from the shoulder injury that she suffered in the summer. It’s a testament to how hard Morgan worked to get back into the ring.

Liv Morgan was injured taking a routine bump on the June 6th episode of Raw when she was in a match against Kairi Sane. Morgan injured her shoulder, then underwent surgery soon after and missed just under 6 months before making her TV return.

While Morgan has recently competed at WWE live events, she has yet to wrestle on television since returning.

That’s about to change because WWE announced during SmackDown that Morgan will be in action on the January 5th edition of Monday Night Raw in Brooklyn when she faces Lyra Valkyria.

WWE Has Big Plans For Liv Morgan In 2026

The 31-year-old Liv Morgan is a 2-time WWE Women’s World Champion who has been featured heavily on WWE television over the last few years, after being more of a role player earlier in her career.

Joining The Judgment Day with Dominik Mysterio has seen her rise to the top of the women’s division, and it’s a position that WWE obviously likes putting her in.

A recent report from Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, notes that there are plans internally in WWE to “showcase Liv Morgan as a centerpiece of the WWE women’s division at this year’s WrestleMania” in Las Vegas.

It was added that there are key people in WWE who want Morgan to be featured prominently, and that could mean a major singles match at WrestleMania 42.

What that means exactly remains to be seen, but with big matches like the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber coming up in the next two months, if Liv Morgan were to win one of those, then she would be in a major championship match at WrestleMania.

Meanwhile, she continues to “break the internet” on social media since many fans love watching her in and out of the ring.
