Kota Ibushi is open to the idea of working with WWE although there are certain conditions that would have to come with a potential deal as well.

Over the last 20 years, Kota Ibushi has established himself as one of the most technically-skilled and exciting pro wrestlers. Ibushi is a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in NJPW that did all he could do in that company.

Ibushi’s time with New Japan Pro Wrestling ended in January 2023 and he’s now a free agent. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has not competed in the ring since the G1 Climax final in October 2021 that was stopped when Ibushi suffered a bad injury, allowing Kazuchika Okada to pick up the win.

As for his future, there are a lot of rumors of Ibushi possibly joining WWE, which is where he worked in 2016 as part of the Cruiserweight Classic tournament.

There is also apparently interest from AEW as well since that company’s owner Tony Khan has expressed an interest in signing Ibushi. Meanwhile, Ibushi’s good friend and former tag team partner Kenny Omega is an AEW Executive Vice President that Ibushi is very familiar with.

The Dark Puroresu Flowsion Twitter account noted that Ibushi would consider signing with WWE if he got to help train future wrestlers as well.

“Kota Ibushi has told me. If the WWE allowed him to also train & create the next generation of wrestlers at the performance center. Among having some high profile matches. He would most certainly work with WWE.”

That same Dark Puroresu Flowsion account had remarks last week from Ibushi saying he would be open to working in WWE.

There was also a recent report that WWE was interested in signing a major free agent, which is a label that Kota Ibushi would qualify under.
