Kevin Nash Gives The Real Reason He Won’t Be At Sting’s Last Match

Kevin Nash & Sting split

Kevin Nash won’t be in the building when Sting wrestles his last match.

On March 3rd, Sting will wrestle for the final time, finally bringing down the curtain on his Hall of Fame career. At Revolution, The Icon will team with Darby Allin to defend the AEW World Tag Team Titles against the Young Bucks.

Given the gravity of the occasion, the great and the good of professional wrestling are expected to be in attendance, but that gathering won’t include Kevin Nash.

In recent weeks, Nash hinted that WWE was preventing him from going to the event, with fans surmising he was still being paid by the sports entertainment giant. However, the man himself claims that isn’t the case.

Speaking on his Kilq This podcast, Nash said he’s simply a “WWE guy.”

“I never said that (that I was on the WWE payroll),” Nash said. “What I said is I’m a WWE guy. I can’t have a picture of me in the crowd and underneath it says, ‘Is all Elite.’ I just can’t have that. It just doesn’t work. One of my closest fu**ing friends is Paul Levesque.

As much as I love Steve and I know he will only have one last match, I will watch it. We will talk about it. I haven’t been to a WrestleMania, a RAW, a SmackDown, or any of the other pay-per-views. I haven’t been to any events. I don’t want to go to any place and be around a bunch of people, let alone wrestling people. I just don’t want to do it. I’m a hermit and that’s it.”

What Did Kevin Nash Originally Say About Sting’s Last Match?

On an earlier episode of his podcast, Kevin Nash said his “positioning” with WWE would prevent him from attending the event. The WWE Hall of Famer added that he felt Sting wanted him to be there and was disappointed when a deal couldn’t be made.

Sting and Kevin Nash worked together for several years while with WCW and later TNA Wrestling.
