Jim Cornette Discusses “Sh*tstain” Vince Russo’s USA Network Consultant Claims

Jim Cornette has hit out at Vince Russo’s claims that USA Network hired him to act as a consultant for WWE programming.

Being a former head writer for WWE, Vince Russo recently revealed that he had been keeping his role for USA Network as a consultant quiet, having involvement in WWE Raw and his deal ending shortly after WrestleMania 38. Russo also claimed he was paid “very well” for his role and that Vince McMahon was aware of his involvement.

There has been no love lost between Vince Russo and Jim Cornette, and on a recent episode of his Jim Cornette Experience, the manager turned podcaster discussed how he doesn’t believe the claims.

If Vince McMahon was not letting his own creative people, his own wrestlers, his own family members have their way. You think he’s going to change the goddamn programme because sh*tstain [Vince Russo] gets a job as a consultant by some random USA Network executive. Oh, I’m sure he was calling a lot of shots. So as bad as I would like to blame sh*tstain for the downward trajectory of the Raw programme over the past couple of years, no, I don’t think he’s had anything to do with it.

I think if USA Network was paying him, it was probably because some dipsh*t executive just went give the guy a couple grand a week. Now for sh*tstain, that was something that he would describe as being paid very, very well for a television network to hire a consultant. You know, and they probably got buyer’s remorse pretty quick and just said ‘Ah sh*t, we f*cked up, this is not doing anything. We signed a contract with the guy, so we’ll just send him his meagre check.’ But I’m still sceptical of the whole thing.

Jim Cornette pointed to other previous claims from Vince Russo that he was talking to people within WWE and AEW whilst having an association with USA Network.

You know, you can’t believe sh*tstain even if his tongue was notarized, you’ve got to look deeper into anything that he says. And now here’s another thing. He’s been paid by his own admission, or his own claim by the USA Network to consult on Raw for two years.

In that last two years, he has multiple times said ‘Well, I’ve tried to talk to Vince McMahon about letting me help him.’ And then he’s done programmes with the theme of talking about the last email exchange he’ll ever have with Vince McMahon. Then he’s talked about ‘I could help Tony Khan. If only he gives me an opportunity to save his programme…’ while he was being paid by the USA Network to help the WWE programme he’s trying to get Tony Khan to pay him to help the AW programme?

This backstabbing prick will f*cking cut anybody’s nuts off. He has never been honest, he’s never been faithful. He’s never been loyal, he’s never been trustworthy. And he will come up with some way in his head to articulate how he’s the victim or he’s not the one to blame. Or he’s the goddamn guy that’s trying to do good and everybody else’s against him, while he’s cutting the nuts off of all of his co-workers and stabbing every boss he’s ever had in the back trying to get a better job.

Vince Russo held the position of Head Writer for WWE between 1997 and 1999, before leaving the company and spending time with both WCW and IMPACT Wrestling.
