FTR Discusses Possible CMFTR Vs. The Elite Match

CM Punk FTR AEW Collision

The long-awaited CM Punk and FTR vs. The Elite match is still possible, just not right now.

UK fans will see two-thirds of the dream match take place inside Wembley Stadium, as The Young Bucks will face AEW Tag Team Champions Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler with the titles on the line. As for CM Punk and Kenny Omega, The Best in the World looks set to collide with Samoa Joe at All In, while The Best Bout Machine will make his intentions clear on the August 16th episode of AEW Dynamite.

Following the infamous events that took place at All Out 2022, it is still unknown whether Punk is willing to have a match with The Elite, as there are still reported “significant issues” between both sides.

Speaking with DAZN, FTR were asked if they think that the trios match is a possibility. Dax Harwood said that if the creative is good and the match is presented organically, he would be open to it:

“If the cards fall into place and the story is right and the opportunity calls for it, hell yeah, we can do it,”

Cash Wheeler then gave his thoughts, stating that time healing all wounds and the financial incentive from doing the match could be enough:

“It’s hard to know with all the moving parts that are involved for anybody, but wrestling is all about making the most money for yourself and the company you work for. I think everybody here all agrees with that. The more time passes, the more likely it is we can get to there. You never really know, and I don’t want to say yes, but I hope so.”

Which Championships Does FTR Have?

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are the current AEW Tag Team Champions and are in their second reign with the titles. FTR has previously held tag team gold all around the world, winning championships in promotions such as WWE, NJPW, Ring of Honor and Triple A. The partners could become the first ever double Tag Team Champions in All Elite Wrestling history on August 12th, as they team with CM Punk to challenge The House of Black for the Trios Championships.
