Andrade’s sudden release from WWE sent wrestling fans into a tailspin.

On September 13, it was reported that the Mexican wrestler was moved to the Stamford promotion’s alumni section on its official website.

While no official confirmation came from the company, details began emerging about his release.

Ultimately, it was determined that Andrade’s exit was due to disciplinary issues.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed:

I don’t know the whole story, but I do know it was a discipline thing. It was not his doing at all. You know, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh, he’s not being used well, so he’s unhappy.’ I’m positive he’s unhappy, but it wasn’t him asking out.

Andrade had formed a surprisingly excellent alliance with Rey Fenix, and had even competed in the highly-acclaimed six-team tag match for the Tag Team titles at SummerSlam.

There were even plans in motion to book him and Fenix for a match against the Wyatt Sicks at Clash in Paris.

However, it was The Street Profits who ultimately challenged the Uncle Howdy-led faction at the Paris event.

Ex-WWE Star Believes Andrade Wanted To Get Fired

One of the other revelations that came after Andrade’s release was he refused to attend calls from WWE.

After analyzing the situation, retired wrestler Stevie Richards speculated that the 35-year-old may have wanted to get fired by the promotion.

Speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, he said:

But then, the fact of keeping it real? [laughs] When keeping it real goes wrong for them, like if I’m not answering my phone for them, then to me, you wanted to get released in a way. Or, you didn’t want anything to do with this company. But all in all, he is very very good. He’s an excellent worker.
