Drew McIntyre has spoken up about wanting WWE to hold a WrestleMania in the United Kingdom in the future.

Fans of WWE in the UK have wanted major shows to take place there for many years. The last one was 30 years ago. SummerSlam 1992 was a very successful stadium show in London, England with The British Bulldog beating Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Title in the main event.

The good news for UK fans is there is another major WWE show taking place on September 3 when Clash at the Castle takes place at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales The main event of that show will see Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre, who is from Scotland, which means he is from the UK.

An event like Clash at the Castle will be huge for UK wrestling fans since it’s expected to have somewhere around 70,000 fans in attendance. However, fans want even more. They want WrestleMania.

McIntyre was recently interviewed by Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast and Drew spoke openly about why he thinks the UK could hold a WrestleMania.

“Yeah, I can’t see why not. I’m not going to talk about numbers that I have heard at the moment until they are official, but we have seen the numbers that have been released, just the demand for the tickets broke records initially. Right now we are on course for some big, big numbers from a business perspective.”

“But people watching and tuning into Clash at the Castle and seeing the live audience, how loud and rowdy and crazy they are with the chants we have seen in the past with Raw and SmackDown that have come from the UK. I know a lot of people are going to go ‘Why don’t we do a WrestleMania here?’ It’s gonna be crazy, imagine those wild UK fans and people coming from all across the world joining in the passion, the atmosphere, and the insanity of the UK fans.”

The next two WrestleManias are accounted for since SoFi Stadium Stadium will host WrestleMania 39 next April. It has also been announced that WrestleMania 40 will take place in Philadelphia.

You can watch Drew McIntyre challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Clash at the Castle from Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Saturday, September 3rd on Peacock and WWE Network.
