Two Reasons Why Drew McIntyre Must End Cody Rhodes’ WWE Title Reign

Drew McIntyre Cody Rhodes WWE

Drew McIntyre will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

The match will take place on Friday Night SmackDown in Berlin on January 9th with a 3 Stages Of Hell stipulation: Regular, Falls Count Anywhere, and Steel Cage.

WWE veteran Mark Henry reviewed the latest episode of SmackDown on Busted Open, where he talked about Drew and Cody’s upcoming match.

He stated that McIntyre should be the one to win the match.

Drew McIntyre Needs A Victory Over Cody Rhodes

Mark Henry highlighted how Drew has fallen short in his previous quests and how much it has hurt his momentum and credibility as a heel. Therefore, he needs to beat Cody and become the new champion on the upcoming episode of SmackDown.

Drew’s been run through the wringer. He always gets to the dance, but then can’t find his invitation. It’s time to throw the dude a bone and let him have his gloating heel king moment.

Mark added that Drew needs this victory for two reasons. First, it will help him establish himself as one of the top wrestlers in the company. Second, it will generate more heat, which is good for his heel character.

Drew needs a moment of being the guy so he can remind everybody 1. how good he is and 2. build up heat. You want to see the title be taken off of him, that’s an important thing in wrestling. We went away from what becomes important and we want to do what’s just entertaining.

A fan made a similar case on X, claiming that McIntyre should beat Cody on Friday, but ex-WWE personality Jonathan Coachman provided a spoiler, stating that Cody Rhodes will walk out as the champion in Berlin.
