Drew McIntyre On Bobby Lashley Falling From Ring After Top Rope Broke On Live Event

Drew McIntyre has detailed exactly what he saw when the top rope broke at a house show, leaving Bobby Lashley crashing to the floor outside the ring.

Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre were going one-on-one during a WWE house show in Newcastle, England and when both men went to hit the ropes, the top strand snapped causing Lashley to fall from the ring where the rope would have been.

Speaking to Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports, former WWE Champion McIntyre spoke about the moment, and how he saw exactly what happened to his opponent.

For me, it was very quick yet very slow at the same time. When trouble happens, things seem to slow down for me and I’m very aware of what’s going on. I knew when I hit the ropes, something went wrong. I was able to catch myself very quickly and was watching straight ahead and saw how Lashley went over. So, the rope broke as I connected. He was a split second behind me. He had no rope. He went into what should have been the top rope and he continued head over heels at the speed he was going.

Drew McIntyre went on to say that he was confident Lashley would be alright because of the way he fell from the ring, with his head not connecting with either the ring apron or the floor.

Thankfully, I could see how he landed. He went head over heels. Those giant traps hit the ring apron. His head didn’t connect with the ring apron, thankfully. He flipped himself right around onto the mat outside. I could see he was probably going to be OK. Knowing him, he’d be OK.

The incident certainly hasn’t slowed Lashley down, after he recently faced Omos at WrestleMania Backlash, and will now face the same opponent once again looking for revenge when they clash inside a steel cage.
