AJ Styles Wanted Back By WWE After Injury Issues
AJ Styles has been out of action since October but WWE is hoping the star will be able to return for a major show.
On October 4 2024, AJ Styles made his return to SmackDown, but things didn’t go to plan. The star’s big return was cut short by Carmelo Hayes, but the former NXT Champion turned down Styles’ challenge to a match.
However, LA Knight arrived to make an offer causing Hayes to change his mind. The United States Champion said he’d give Hayes a title shot if he could beat Styles that night.
Later in the show, Hayes and Styles finally met in the ring, but things quickly went off the rails. AJ Styles appeared to suffer an ankle and the injury and the match was waved off. It was quickly established that the injury was meant to be part of a storyline, but it was then reported that Styles had suffered a legitimate injury, sparking confusion.
However, it turned out the injury was very real and AJ Styles was “pretty mad” about his SmackDown return as a result. But could The Phenomenal One be returning soon?
AJ Styles Back For The Royal Rumble?
PWInsider has reported that WWE is hoping AJ Styles will be cleared to return to action in time for the Royal Rumble on February 1. Styles is said to heading to Indianapolis where the show takes place but it remains to be seen if he’ll be able to take his place on the show likely as part of the men’s Rumble match itself.
AJ Styles famously made his WWE debut in the 2016 Royal Rumble which lasted over half an hour before he was eliminated by Kevin Owens.
