AEW Star Spotted In SummerSlam Vignette

One WWE feud is heating up on the road to SummerSlam and an AEW talent has been spotted in the build-up.

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler have been close friends since both women were part of the MMA world with Baszler picked by Rousey for her team on reality show The Ultimate Fighter.

Although both stars had been kept separate for most of their WWE careers, they began teaming up towards the beginning of 2023 supposedly at the behest of Rousey. They were originally planned to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 39 but an injury to the former UFC Champion postponed things.

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler did win gold together in May 2023 but lost the championship at Money In The Bank to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez when Baszler shockingly turned on Rousey.

This has led to the two former friends facing off in an MMA Rules match at SummerSlam and as part of the build-up to that bout, vignettes have aired highlighting their long history together. Rousey and Baszler were part of a quartet of MMA stars known as the Four Horsewomen which also included Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. Shafir’s inclusion in photos shown in the vignette is notable as she is a current talent on the AEW roster.

Shafir has most recently been highlighted on AEW Rampage where she failed to dethrone Kris Statlander for the TBS Championship.

Who produced the vignettes featuring AEW talent?

The vignettes highlighting the relationship between Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler have been met with great acclaim from fans. A report revealed that former TNA broadcaster Jeremy Borash and his team produced the videos at the WWE Performance Center.

It was also noted that Paul Heyman was present for the production and it is believed he had some input as a long-time trusted confidante of Rousey.
