Will Ospreay Set For First AEW Title Match

Will Ospreay

Will Ospreay has been on a tear since joining AEW and now he has his first chance to win gold in the company at Double Or Nothing.

Will Ospreay won big at Dynasty when he defeated Bryan Danielson in a critically acclaimed dream match. Ospreay dropped Danielson with his Tiger Driver 91 which caused the referee to call over the ringside doctor in concern for The American Dragon’s health.

Undeterred, Ospreay nailed Danielson with his Hidden Blade to pick up the win. After the match, Will Ospreay vowed to retire the Tiger Driver 91 as he claimed he hadn’t seen the doctor being called and didn’t realise the apparent effect it had on Danielson.

Will Ospreay Earns AEW International Title Match

That played into the story of Ospreay’s bout on Dynamite in Jacksonville when he was part of a gauntlet match to find a new contender for Roderick Strong’s AEW International Championship. That match included Jay White, Dante Martin, Penta El Zero Miedo, Kyle O’Reilly, Ospreay, Lance Archer, Komander, and Jay Lethal but it was Will Ospreay who came out on top.

During the match, Ospreay went to use his Tiger Driver 91 before stopping himself. Afterwards, Don Callis asked Ospreay about this and teased further separation in The Don Callis Family by urging Ospreay to use the move on Strong – who has a history of neck issues – in their title match in Las Vegas.
