Unlikely Figure Wants AEW Alliance With Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley IWGP Champion

A controversial AEW figure wants to unite with Jon Moxley.

At AEW Double or Nothing, Jon Moxley is set to meet Konosuke Takeshita in a match with huge title implications. So naturally, Takeshita and his guiding voice Don Callis looked to gain an advantage.

On the May 25th episode of Collision, with Callis trying to goad Moxley in the ring, the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion was attacked from behind by Takeshita.

Speaking in a backstage digital exclusive, Callis discussed the reasoning behind the attack, and said it wasn’t too late for Moxley to join him in the Don Callis Family.

“Very disappointed, Jon. I opened myself up to you. I tried to show you how much we have in common. You see, the affliction that you suffer from, I do too. You don’t have to walk this path alone. You can walk beside your brother. I say that, Jon, because just like you, I don’t feel anything either. Just like you, I act in my own self-interest.

I offered you not just me as a brother to walk with on this path called professional wrestling. I offered you, Jon, a family. Most important, I offered you a way out of this disaster that you’re walking into tomorrow when you wrestle Takeshita. Because while you needed my help, John, to beat Kenny Omega, you know who didn’t need my help to beat Omega? This man. Not once, but twice.

So Jon, it’s not too late. We can still change this match to an announcement that you are joining the Don Callis family. You and I can change wrestling history one more time, both of us walking on the same path.”

Why Won’t Jon Moxley Defend IWGP World Heavyweight Title At Double Or Nothing?

It’s been announced that the match between Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita will be an Eliminator for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. This means that if Takeshita wins, he’ll earn a shot at Moxley’s title.

Following the announcement, some fans wondered why the match wasn’t for the title, but it’s been reported Moxley’s already announced match with EVIL at Dominion, ensured he won’t defend the gold beforehand.
