Jey Uso Savages WWE WrestleMania Match: “We Let People Down”

Jey Uso WWE WrestleMania

Jey Uso has discussed his WrestleMania 40 match with his brother Jimmy and explained why he feels they let the fans down.

Jey and Jimmy Uso became only the third pair of brothers to clash at WrestleMania as The Bloodline’s issues continued to dominate WWE.

While most of the focus had been on The Rock’s return and Roman Reigns trying to keep his WWE Universal Title, The Usos had their own issues to deal with that date back to Jimmy turning on Jey and costing him the title that Reigns still held at SummerSlam 2023.

While the bout might have had high expectations, it was widely panned after the show. Dave Meltzer rated the bout at just 3/4 of a star if that’s something you put stock in but the match didn’t have many supporters.

Jey Uso Blames Time Issues For WWE WrestleMania Match

Speaking to Gorilla Position, Jey Uso accepted that the match did not live up to expectations and blamed things not going as planned on a time issue:

I just said this to someone, I do kind of feel like we did let the people down. Yeah, because I wanted to go out there and have a straight-up banger too. I wanted to do the wrestling part, let alone make sure the emotion part was there. It was just a time issue. You’ve just got to play your position on the team. That’s what happened.

But I am still happy that I got a singles match on WrestleMania with my brother, that’s the big picture. So I will always have me and him in the face-off at WrestleMania. I’m gonna frame a picture, it’s marked off our box. I just wish we could have went ham the way I know we can.

The bout lasted 11 minutes and saw Jey Uso defeat his twin brother. The two men then clashed on the next night during Roman Reigns’ match with Cody Rhodes but after the defeat of Jimmy and Roman, Solo Sikoa appears to have snatched control of The Bloodline and brutally kicked Jimmy Uso out of the group.
