Ex-TNA Star Wants Nick Aldis To Wrestle In WWE
A former WWE and TNA wrestler who knows Nick Aldis well wants to see the SmackDown GM go back to being a wrestler.
It was in October 2023 when WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque officially named Nick Aldis as the General Manager of the SmackDown brand. In addition to that on-screen role, Aldis has worked as a backstage Producer in WWE since the summer of 2023.
While World Wrestling Entertainment fans have never seen Aldis compete in a WWE ring yet, Aldis is a former TNA World Champion and NWA World Champion who as literally the face of the NWA brand for several years as well.
In the past, Nick Aldis has said that if he got an opportunity to be in WWE in any kind of role then he would take it, so that’s what he did. Aldis has been praised by many people, especially fans, who believe he has done an excellent job in the GM role on Smackdown.
Matt Morgan Wants To See Nick Aldis Wrestle For WWE
At the age of 37 years old, Nick Aldis likely has several years ahead of him in the ring. Matt Morgan is a former WWE superstar who also worked with Aldis in TNA Wrestling for several years.
On X/Twitter, Morgan was watching WWE Smackdown from Edmonton and decided on Aldis making a ruling on Smackdown.
“I’m sorry. I’ve been as quiet about this as much as I can because @RealNickAldis is a friend of mine. But when the heck is @wwe going to get this guy in the ring already?! Just look at him in this photo with two of the most over acts in Wwe right now! He SCREAMS “world heavyweight champion”! But, I’m Continuing to be patient lol, and letting this storyline “cook” in being the GM.”
“But respectfully, Wwe is missing the mark not taking his equally impressive wrestling acumen and ability to get over, & rate it at the same level they obviously do of his promo ability. I’ve said it since 2012 now: Nick is without a question in my mind, that quintessential & perennial world champion, just WAITING TO HAPPEN!”
“I know it’s not a matter of if, it’s just a matter of when. But it’s becoming harder and harder for me to sit back and watch Nick literally “dwarf” everybody in these promo segments physically, even though he’s rocking a 3-piece full suit lol! This dude is the whole package. Hopefully he’ll get his chance sooner versus later. And I say all this with still being very impressed with how he has expanded that GM role they gave him. He has knocked that role out of the park quite frankly!”
“But people forget, Nick got into this business when he was still a teenager! I know from experience, because I wrestled him on the very first Tna show hed ever wrestled on, when we went to tour England. He was still just a baby. This is not some guy that’s old & grizzled w/multitudes of injuries or something.”
“Again, he’s doing great in this GM role. But I’m still hoping that sooner vs. later, they create a storyline that finally introduces him to Get in the Ring and show what he can TRULY offer that global juggernaut of a company. And yes, I do believe that he IS a future draw. Without hesitation, I know it. @TripleH#Wwe#SmackDown #Raw#Netflix @USANetwork #USANetwork@netflix“
