WWE Star Wrestles First House Show Match In 17 Years

WWE Live ring

One WWE star has made their return to live events for the first time in a long time.

Trish Stratus burst back onto the wrestling scene in 2023, competing in her first match since 2019 when she teamed with Becky Lynch and Lita to defeat Damage CTRL at WrestleMania 39. But it didn’t take long after that for the WWE Hall of Famer’s true colours to shine through.

Stratus turned on Lynch after the two women teamed together on Raw six nights after WrestleMania and the two women have been engaged in an increasingly bitter feud ever since. It looked like things would be finally settled in a match on Raw – after it didn’t make the SummerSlam card – but that resulted in a double count out. It was later confirmed that the two stars will meet one more time in a Steel Cage match.

Trish Stratus makes rare WWE live event appearance

Before that, however, Trish Stratus was in action against Becky Lynch at a live event in Ottawa, Canada that saw the Canadian star team with Zoey Stark in a handicap match. Despite the numbers disadvantage, Becky Lynch picked up the victory.

The match marked the first time Trish Stratus had competed at a non-televised WWE event since the 27th of August 2006. On that occasion, she lost to Lita in a match for the WWE Women’s Championship.
