WWE Slammed Because Of Trish Stratus
Trish Stratus is back in WWE.
The seven-time women’s champion appeared on the July 4 episode of SmackDown and was revealed as Tiffany Stratton’s next title challenger.
The duo will compete at Evolution on June 13, with the winner facing Jade Cargill at SummerSlam in August.
Earlier, Cargill won the Queen of the Ring Tournament at WWE Night of Champions and secured the honor of challenging the women’s champion at ‘the Biggest Party of the Summer.’
While fans at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, rejoiced in the feeling of Stratusfaction, for a veteran, the segment fell flat.
The Innovator of Violence, Tommy Dreamer, appeared on the Busted Open podcast and slammed WWE for the way Stratus’ return was handled.
I think Trish Stratus deserves more than a week build to go after the world title, and I felt that entire segment felt flat just because nobody was really saying anything. It was just, ‘Hey, well, this person got this, and this person got that,’ and also from both Tiffany and Jade, I felt like both are kinda heel-ish, and they’re supposed to be babyfaces.
Trish Stratus Names Her Favorite Match
Trish Stratus is one of the greats in women’s wrestling, often credited for paving the way for a revolution on the roster.
Some of her famous rivalries involve stars like Lita, Mickie James, and Molly Holly.
Out of the many matches that she has wrestled for the Stamford-based company, she named the one against James at WrestleMania 22 as the best.
We love that one, right? The storylines. And it’s just one of those things where storylines, especially for women, and just storylines in general in wrestling, they just don’t go on and on. They just kind of stop and start and forget — Mickie and I are really proud that we had that storyline.
In her last WWE match, Stratus had partnered with Stratton to face Nia Jax and Candice LeRae.
