WWE Hasn’t Forgotten About Absent Star Despite Creative Changes

A WWE star was in talks to make a big impact in one of the ongoing storylines.

Austin Theory, who had been out since July 2025 due to an injury, was reported to join The Vision.

However, the creative was forced to make necessary changes due to a legitimate injury to Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel. The rewritten storyline saw Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed betray Rollins on last week’s RAW, thus writing him off.

The pivot does not necessarily mean that WWE has forgotten about Theory.

According to WrestleVotes, the 28-year-old is still in the scheme of things and is discussed during creative meetings.

Sources indicate there are still voices within the company pushing to keep Austin Theory involved in creative plans, even after the recent shuffling caused by Seth Rollins’ injury.

The idea of Theory joining The Vision was at least discussed, and he still has internal support moving forward to reappear on TV in a significant manner.

Theory’s injury caused his tag team to split, as Grayson Waller aligned himself with The New Day.

As for Austin Theory’s return date, that remains a mystery. It is to be seen whether he will return on one of the brands during a regular taping or before Survivor Series: WarGames.

Austin Theory Labeled ‘Dead Weight’ By Former WWE Partner

Austin Theory suffering an injury meant that Grayson Waller had to go on his own or team up with someone else.

The Australian superstar chose the latter, and in doing so, he buried his former WWE partner, too.

During an appearance on RAW Recap, Waller called Theory ‘dead weight,’ claiming that them splitting might have been the best thing to happen to him.

I watched Theory beat John Cena, and no one cared, and I was like, I know how to make an impact on the main roster… I’m gonna save Austin Theory’s career, and that’s exactly what I did. He’s never been more relevant than when he was with Grayson Waller. We won the World Tag Team Championships. Who pulled ‘em down? I did. He was losing all the matches. I was helping this guy, and where is he now? Who cares?.. I’ve got no problem saying that to his face if he can understand. I’ll have to talk really slow.
