WWE Star Finally Confirms Tag Team Has Ended
Grayson Waller confirms his breakup with A-Town Down Under tag team partner Austin Theory.
Austin Theory suffered an injury that was publicly acknowledged in July 2025. WWE has not officially disclosed the exact nature and severity of the injury. However, multiple sources confirmed it is a legitimate injury, not a storyline. Theory last competed on July 14, 2025, on WWE Main Event before being sidelined.
WWE removed him from the active roster due to the expected long recovery, and his return remains uncertain. The injury halted any immediate plans for his wrestling activities and forced the abrupt end of his tag team, A-Town Down Under, with Grayson Waller.
Theory and Grayson Waller’s tag team, known as A-Town Down Under, officially broke up on July 21, 2025, announced by Waller on WWE Raw. Leading up to the split, tension was evident between the two.
Grayson Waller Insults Austin Theory After WWE RAW
After the September 1st episode of Monday Night Raw that took place in Paris, France, Waller appeared as a guest on the Raw Recap show alongside Sam Roberts and Megan Morant. During the show, he buried Theory with brutal insults, confirming that their tag team had ended for good. He even went as far as to call his former partner a “deadweight.”
“I’ve got rid of the dead weight of Austin Theory, and this is the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I feel so good. I’m in the best shape of my life. Do you know how hard it is to deal with someone with an IQ of 65? That might be high. I saw him on the plane. He said, ‘I read a really good book.’ He was reading The Cat in the Hat, and he was struggling.”
“I watched Theory beat John Cena, and no one cared, and I was like, I know how to make an impact on the main roster… I’m gonna save Austin Theory’s career, and that’s exactly what I did. He’s never been more relevant than when he was with Grayson Waller. We won the World Tag Team Championships. Who pulled ‘em down? I did. He was losing all the matches. I was helping this guy, and where is he now? Who cares?.. I’ve got no problem saying that to his face if he can understand. I’ll have to talk really slow,”
After his breakup with Theory, Waller tried to join The New Day faction. In a backstage segment following the announcement of Theory’s injury, Waller labeled himself as a “free agent” and approached The New Day, offering to join them.
