WWE Hall Of Famer Rubbishes Beef With CM Punk

CM Punk WWE NXT

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has seemingly had a change of heart about CM Punk and says he’s never once had a “beef” with the star.

CM Punk shocked the world when he returned to WWE at Survivor Series less than three months after his very public firing from AEW.

Punk showed love to NXT by appearing at Deadline but fans of the white and gold brand might be disappointed that CM Punk has now signed exclusively with Monday Night Raw.

Seth Rollins is one man who has made very clear his feelings on Punk and given what went on in AEW there are surely a few people there not crying a river that Punk has left. But Booker T is one man who doesn’t have an issue with Punk and never has, not even once.

Booker T Has No Beef With WWE Colleague CM Punk

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, NXT commentator Booker T was adamant that he never had any issues with CM Punk and suggested that Punk’s downfall in AEW was down to other people not caring about each other in that company:

People say over and over, ‘it feels like I have a beef with CM Punk.’ I’ve never had a beef with CM Punk, not once. I’ve never gotten to the point where I said something negative to where, ‘Hey, I want to fight CM Punk,’ stupid stuff like that. No, no. This is about business. When he said he’s not here to make friends, he’s here to make business. In this business, you have to have friends in order to do business.

You’re working with a lot of guys that you’ve got to trust in the ring. It’s not like a UFC fight where you don’t have to care about each other. In this business, you have to care about guys you’re working with. It’s just that simple, there is no way around it. If you don’t, it’s going to show, it’s going to show very quickly and you’re not going to last very long.

That’s not something I have to tell CM Punk. I’m not saying that to CM Punk at all. He knows that. There’s a reason why things didn’t work out in AEW, it’s because a lot of those guys probably didn’t care about each other.

Booker T previously backed Seth Rollins for calling CM Punk “a cancer,” noting that he was glad that he didn’t have to say it. Booker T also slammed CM Punk for “childish” comments made on social media in regards to some of his now former colleagues. These remarks from the WWE Hall of Famer came when CM Punk worked for AEW so people might not be too surprised that the NXT announcer has seemingly changed his mind now Punk is back in WWE.
