WWE Changes WrestleMania Plans For Roman Reigns Yet Again
Roman Reigns won’t have a singles match at WrestleMania 41.
Back in December, it was reported that Roman Reigns was heading for a WrestleMania match with CM Punk. Interestingly, this wasn’t the original plan for either man and only became a possibility following Survivor Series.
At the event, the pair teamed up inside WarGames, even if in storyline they weren’t happy about it.
Fast forward to the Royal Rumble, and Punk eliminated both Reigns and Seth Rollins as the two former Shield members went toe-to-toe. After Punk was eliminated by Logan Paul, Rollins stomped Reigns before brawling with the former AEW World Champion, hitting him with a Superkick. After getting in Paul Heyman’s face, Rollins hit Reigns with another stomp, but this time on the steel steps.
In the days after the event it’s now been reported that the very personal issues between the trio will be settled at WrestleMania 41.
WWE Makes Roman Reigns Changes
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, current plans are for Reigns to face both CM Punk and Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat Match. Johnson reiterated that the announcement on Raw from Michael Cole about Reigns being “out of action” was a way of writing him out of storylines in the short term.
Rollins had been due to face Punk at WrestleMania 40, but those plans were changed when the former AEW star got injured. Instead, Rollins squared off against Drew McIntyre in a match where he lost the World Heavyweight Title.
In early January, it was reported that a potential dream match between The Rock and Roman Reigns “isn’t dead” and could take place outside of WrestleMania. But a more recent report noted that people within WWE were angry at The Rock following his appearance at Bad Blood, as he’d already told the company he wouldn’t be wrestling at WrestleMania.
