Update On WarGames At WWE Survivor Series
A new report reveals whether WWE will continue the tradition of WarGames at Survivor Series as well as early plans for The Judgment Day.
First invented by Dusty Rhodes in 1987, WarGames takes the concept of a cage match to another level as two rings are placed side by side and surrounded by a steel cage. Though the rules have evolved over time, the match sees teams face off against one another with team members entering the cages at fixed intervals. Victory can only be achieved once all team members have entered the cages, at which point a tag team match begins.
WWE first brought back the match concept in 2017 when it presented the first edition of NXT TakeOver: WarGames. In 2022, the match came to the main roster as part of the company’s annual Survivor Series event. The show featured both men’s and women’s matches inside the double cage, and fans began to wonder whether this would become an annual tradition, especially with Chief Content Officer Triple H taking over creative control.
Will WarGames Be At Survivor Series 2023?
According to a new report from Fightful Select, WWE once again plans to present WarGames at the 2023 edition of Survivor Series. While details are scarce, Fightful has heard that a men’s match is in the works, and it’s expected that The Judgment Day will be involved, though plans are not yet confirmed.
WWE Survivor Series is set to take place on November 25th at the Allstate Arena near Chicago, IL.
