Triple H’s Favorite Leaving WWE When Contract Expires

Triple H WWE

An absentee WWE veteran will reportedly quit the company after their contract expires.

Triple H and Tommaso Ciampa share a great working relationship, as evidenced by the promotion’s Chief Content Officer hugging Ciampa after his match at NXT Stand & Deliver 2022.

The current boss has been instrumental in Ciampa’s success, having previously influenced his character and direction on the developmental brand.

The Sicilian Psychopath is a former 2-time NXT Champion. He has also won the tag team championship as many times on the main roster alongside his #DIY teammate, Johnny Gargano.

Ciampa last competed on the December 19 episode of SmackDown, where he teamed up with Gargano and lost to Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov.

Since then, Gargano has been featured in segments with his wife, Candice LeRae, with Ciampa nowhere to be seen.

Insider sources with Bodyslam have reported that the 40-year-old’s contract is nearing its end, and he does not plan to renew it.

It is currently unknown whether he plans to compete in another promotion or wishes to take time off without re-signing with the company.

Neither Triple H nor WWE has officially commented on the Tommaso Ciampa contract situation.

Triple H Welcomes Former WWE Champion After SmackDown

The January 2 episode of SmackDown saw the return of former WWE Intercontinental Champion Matt Cardona.

During the taping, viewers were informed that Cardona had officially re-signed with the company after spending five years as a freelance wrestler.

The 40-year-old appeared as the mystery opponent of Kit Wilson in a short match that saw Cardona get a victory.

Triple H later shared a personal message for Cardona, welcoming him to the blue brand while sharing a video of his match against Wilson.

Cardona’s first stint with WWE was between 2006 and 2020.

And while he ended the evening as a happy camper, the same could not be said about his wife, Chelsea Green.
