Triple H Clairifies Vince McMahon Is Not Involved In WWE Creative Day To Day

Vince McMahon Triple H

Triple H has shared just how involved Vince McMahon is with the creative in WWE, praising his father-in-law by saying he’s “forgotten more about this (WWE) than you’ll ever know”.

Following the return of Vince McMahon to the Board of Directors in January, and the sale of WWE to Endeavor. Fans and media have questioned if Vince McMahon had taken back control of WWE creative.

At the SummerSlam Press Conference, Triple H faced the world’s media and was asked how involved McMahon is.

Triple H acknowledged his desire to discuss ideas with Vince McMahon, praising McMahon for the success of building WWE. But he also shared that McMahon is no longer working day-to-day on the creative.

“The reason WWE is what it is, the reason this business, not just WWE, you could make an argument, a very valid one, that without Vince and his vision for this business, maybe it wouldn’t be here anymore. There were things at that time, back in the day, that were very popular, roller derby, things like that, that just disappeared off the face of the planet.

The vision of what he did changed the business, changed all of it, for 50 years. An incredible run of success. No greater mind in the business. At this point in time, if all of us, didn’t look in moments of time for counsel from him on thoughts or ideas or if we have a question, to go to him and ask, we’d be silly not to.

It’s sitting next to someone that has forgotten more about this than you’ll ever know. To not utilize that in some aspect…is he day-to-day? No. Is he in it all the time? No. If anybody has, he’s earned that right to be able to do that.”

Triple H Questions Leadership of Judgment Day

After fielding questions about who is in control of WWE, Triple H would go on to discuss the fall out of this year’s SummerSlam.

Seth Rollins retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after a physically demanding battle with Finn Balor.

Toward the end of the match the other members of Judgment Day interfered to try and help their leader become the new Champion but Rollins used the distraction to stomp Balor face first into the Money In The Bank briefcase and pick up the win by pinfall.

Triple H was asked for his thoughts on the faction and he questioned where Finn Balor goes from here, and compared the lack of a clear leader to that of The Bloodline, who are led by The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.

“Bloodline has a very distinct leader. Judgement Day sort of doesn’t.”

In a new update regarding the upcoming merger and creation of TKO Holdings, Triple H has not been named on the Board of Directors.
