Top AEW Star Pulled From Continental Classic

Sting celebrates at Revolution blur AEW logo

Tony Khan has been forced to make a big change to the AEW Continental Classic.

Darby Allin has entertained and sickened in equal measures with his wild antics in AEW. Allin was sent through a flaming table during the Blood & Guts match, and he’s been nearly drowned in recent months by Jon Moxley and the Death Riders.

On Dynamite, it was revealed that Allin was in the hospital and unable to compete.

This was followed by a report that confirmed that Darby Allin was legitimately injured. According to that report, the star suffered an injury during his recent match with Kevin Knight.

Former AEW Tag Team Champion To Replace Darby Allin

On the December 6 episode of Collision, it was announced that Darby Allin had been removed from the Continental Classic. There’s still no word on what exactly Allin’s injuries are, just that they’re extensive enough to take him out of action.

Allin’s place in the tournament will be taken by Jack Perry, who has been on a fine run since reuniting with Luchasaurus as Jurassic Express.

Elsewhere on Collision and the Continental Classic, Orange Cassidy beat Roderick Strong, Mascara Dorada beat Claudio Castagnoli, and Konosuke Takeshita beat Jon Moxley.
