Tony Khan Says Jade Cargill Is “Always Welcome” In AEW
Tony Khan has had his say on Jade Cargill leaving AEW.
Jade Cargill’s time in AEW looked to be over following her apparent final match in the company on the 15th of September edition of Rampage where she failed to dethrone Kris Statlander for the TBS Championship. Reports emerged that Cargill’s time in the company was ending and that she looked destined to join WWE.
Reports then emerged which suggested Cargill had not yet signed a deal with WWE but was believed to be heading to the Performance Center in Orlando as soon as this week. Creative plans are being put in place for Cargill in WWE and now AEW has confirmed she is no longer with the company as the first TBS Champion has been removed from AEW’s roster page on the company’s website.
What did Tony Khan say about Jade Cargill leaving AEW?
Speaking on the Superstar Crossover podcast, Tony Khan was asked about Jade Cargill leaving his company and although he wouldn’t comment directly on her exit, he did not that she would be welcome back:
“Jade had a great match on Friday night on AEW Rampage and it was a great match against Kris Statlander. Kris Statlander retained the TBS Championship on Rampage on Friday night and I thought that was a great match, definitely one of the best matches I’ve seen either of them have and I thought a really great main event for the show.
“As far as Jade goes, I can’t really comment on that except to say that Jade’s been a great wrestler for AEW and certainly always welcome in AEW, you know, could always be somebody we would always love to work with here in AEW.”
Tony Khan couldn’t really comment on the AEW exit of CM Punkalso but did not suggest that the two parties could work together again in the future as he did with Cargill.
