The Rock Turning Roman Reigns Into A Little Brother Says Ex-WWE Star
One former WWE star thinks The Rock’s overbearing presence in the lead-up to WrestleMania 40 is overshadowing Roman Reigns and what should be a huge title match.
Roman Reigns will defend the WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 40. But in recent weeks, fans might be forgiven for thinking that Rhodes was going one-on-one with The Rock at the event.
The Rock will team with Reigns to face Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a tag team match that will headline night one of WWE’s showpiece event but one ex-WWE star wants to see more focus on Roman Reigns and his all-conquering title reign.
The Rock Needs To Step Aside Says Ex-WWE Star
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Nic Nemeth explained why he feels The Rock’s presence in WWE has overshadowed Roman Reigns and his title match with Cody Rhodes and explained what Reigns can do to get the focus back on him:
It does make Roman look like a little brother — a little bit…We had a year and nine months before The Rock of this two-year story, so I get it.
He doesn’t have to mimic The Rock; he doesn’t even have to talk about him. This is a moment for him to be right back on schedule, let him say whatever he wants. This is the biggest story in the business, and this is the guy you have to beat.
We all know The Rock’s involved, we all know that the back and forth has only been Rock and Cody, let’s get back to the championship match. I really think I want them to sell me on WrestleMania, not just watching on TV, why I need to be in the building for this moment?
The Rock bloodied and battered Cody Rhodes on Raw in Chicago so it remains to be seen if The American Nightmare is sidetracked from finishing his story by focussing too much on The Great One.
