Ted DiBiase Names His Favourite Enhancement Talent To Work With

WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase has revealed his favourite enhancement talent from his illustrious wrestling career, giving the nod to Southern wrestling staple George South, but also giving a nod to Mario Mancini.

During a recent edition of “Everybody’s Got A Pod“, the “Million Dollar Man” was asked to name his preferred opponent from the ranks of wrestling’s unsung heroes – the enhancement talents who made stars look good on television while rarely securing victories themselves.

Well, I love George South… he was an enhancement guy for me too. But I worked with the other guy [Mario Mancini] like what’d you say, four times. But overall, I would have to go with George.

Enhancement talents, played a crucial role in wrestling’s territorial days through the early 1990s, helping establish stars through competitive but ultimately one-sided matches on weekly television programs.

While South earned DiBiase’s top recognition, the WWE legend also acknowledged a notable interaction with Mancini, confirming a story Mancini has shared over the years about Ted DiBiase advocating for him behind the scenes.

According to Mancini’s account, after working numerous television matches together, DiBiase suggested to WWE executive Pat Patterson that that perhaps the two of them should begin a program.

I do remember that. My attitude was how many times have the people seen me with the same guy who basically was an enhancement talent and how many times am I gonna wrestle him and beat him before we’ve had enough. But a good guy, and hearing him recant, that it was a pretty good idea.

This rare glimpse into the relationship between a main event performer and enhancement talent highlights the often-overlooked role these wrestlers played in building the careers of superstars. While George South and Mario Mancini may not have the name recognition of Ted DiBiase, their contributions to his memorable WWE run remain appreciated by the Million Dollar Man himself.
