Ric Flair Doesn’t Agree With Being Compared To Ex-WWE Champion
Ric Flair isn’t happy about being compared to a former WWE Champion.
During a recent interview, Bret “The Hitman” Hart discussed his own wrestling style while comparing it to those of Ric Flair and Gunther, whose offenses are chop-heavy.
The Nature Boy was asked about his reaction to Hart’s comments, when he agreed that the Canadian was among the greats when it came to technical wrestling.
However, when it came to using his name in the same breath as former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, Flair thought otherwise.
In an interview with The Escapist Magazine, Flair spoke about Bret Hart’s technical mastery, but also admitted that he had not seen Gunther’s work enough to give his full verdict.
He did, however, admit that comparisons between them were unwarranted.
For Gunther, I haven’t watched him enough, but what they find fascinating about Gunther is his look. He has a tremendous look. Because when he wrestled Pat McAfee. Pat McAfee was 10 times the athlete that he is. But Gunther has a great look. His facials are great and all that. But if you’re comparing him to me, come on, there’s levels to the game. Ric Flair Discusses Poor Chemistry With Randy Savage
During the same interview, Ric Flair spoke about WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage, and his chemistry with them.
When asked if his chemistry was better with Savage than Hogan, he said:
No, we had terrible chemistry.
He wanted to rehearse and I didn’t rehearse. I only did it for WrestleMania. Instead of having a week off, I had to come to Tampa and wrestle for three hours a day with him to memorize a match. And that just wasn’t my style. You have to feel the crowd.
