Backstage Reaction To CM Punk, Seth Rollins & Drew McIntyre Promo

CM Punk promo on Raw

The verdict is in on an explosive night for CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins.

The March 25th episode of Raw was one of the wildest nights in recent WWE history with chaos reigning supreme. The show opened with Cody Rhodes being confronted by The Rock, who whispered a warning that came back into play as the show went off the air. With the episode about to end, Rock brutally assaulted Rhodes backstage leaving him a bloodied mess in the rain outside of the area.

Meanwhile, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre all came face to face in another emotionally charged segment. In the midst of the verbal sparring, CM Punk referenced Jim Cornette and dared McIntyre to mention disgraced former WWE boss Vince McMahon. McIntyre had hilariously perched himself on the announce desk with his legs crossed, leaving Rollins and Punk to trade insults in the ring.

After Punk made his way up the ramp, Rollins blindsided McIntyre before heading backstage.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, there were no hints of heat backstage, despite how personal the segment got. The report adds things still appear well with CM Punk in WWE.

With regard to the creation of the segment, Adam Pearce was the producer on duty, and the claim internally is there was a general outline and talent knew they were all going to “go for it and see what happens.”

WWE wasn’t aware of Punk’s plan to swear, and the report reiterated claims a recent memo was sent to talent discouraging them from using such language.

CM Punk Confirms WrestleMania Role

During the segment, McIntyre invited Punk to serve as a guest commentator for his WrestleMania match with Rollins. While the World Champion said it would be ironic if the former AEW star was forced to commentate on one of the greatest moments of his career.

CM Punk then confirmed he’ll join the commentary team for the match.
