CM Punk References Vince McMahon & Jim Cornette In Wild Raw Tirade

CM Punk WWE

CM Punk was in fine form as Raw came to his hometown of Chicago and he gave Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and the fans in attendance something to think about.

CM Punk won’t be competing at WrestleMania 40 because of a serious injury he suffered at the Royal Rumble but it seems Punk still wants to have his say on what happens there.

On Raw in Chicago, CM Punk came to the ring to greet his adoring public as he took shots at several members of the WWE roster. Punk noted Roman Reigns had been a recent guest on Raw announcer Pat McAfee’s show but confessed he wasn’t a regular listener, preferring to listen to the “Experience” and the “Drive-Thru.”

These are podcasts hosted weekly by former WWE manager and somewhat polarising wrestling figure Jim Cornette. Cornette has not been shy about being a fan of Punk since he returned to wrestling in AEW in 2021 and was very critical of the handling of Punk in the incidents that ultimately saw him fired by Tony Khan.

CM Punk Dares Drew McIntyre To Mention Vince McMahon

Drew McIntyre soon interrupted as he continued to mock Punk for not being a part of WrestleMania due to his injury. McIntyre referred to himself as “the chosen one” as he had been known early in his initial WWE run. Punk didn’t miss a trick as he begged McIntyre to mention the person who gave him that nickname, that person being disgraced ex-WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. McIntyre declined to mention McMahon’s name on the show.

Ultimately Seth Rollins joined the pair and CM Punk confirmed he will be on commentary for their match at WrestleMania 40.
