RAW Star Beats Becky Lynch To Win Female WWE Wrestler Of The Year

Becky Lynch WWE RAW

Becky Lynch had a memorable 2025, but not necessarily for all the right reasons.

In June 2024, Lynch’s WWE contract expired, rendering her a free agent.

After not appearing in any professional wrestling promotion for 11 months, she made her triumphant return at WrestleMania 41, replacing Bayley to team up with Lyra Valkyria.

The Irish duo took on The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, winning the Women’s Tag Team Championship together for the first time.

The following night, both teams faced off again, but Lynch and Valkyria shockingly lost the titles back to Morgan and Rodriguez. In a shocking turn of events, Lynch attacked her partner, turning heel in the process.

‘The Man’ went on to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship from Valkyria at Money in the Bank. As the top women’s heel, Lynch trashed her opponents and fans worldwide, including those in her country of Ireland.

The 39-year-old ultimately picked up a feud with Maxxine Dupri, whom she dominated in their first singles meeting. The two picked up their feud a couple of months later.

Despite dominating two of their next matches, Becky Lynch lost both due to a count-out and disqualification, respectively.

Subsequently, a rematch was announced for the November 17 episode of WWE Raw, this time for the Women’s IC title.

To everyone’s surprise, Dupri beat Lynch, although not before AJ Lee caused a distraction.

As a result, Becky Lynch crashed hard, calling out referees and other company officials over corruption, posting videos and social media posts about involving lawyers and demanding justice.

Becky Lynch Loses Female WWE Wrestler Of The Year To Newbie

Another female wrestler who had a stellar 2025 on WWE’s main roster was Stephanie Vaquer.

The Chilean star debuted on Raw in May and earned a title shot by winning a women’s royal rumble match at Evolution. She won the vacant Women’s World Championship by defeating Iyo Sky at Wrestlepalooza.

Recently, former WWE employee and Hollywood star Freddie Prinze Jr. named his pick for the Femal WWE Wrestler of the Year.

The contenders were Stephanie Vaquer, Tiffany Stratton, Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Becky Lynch, and Jade Cargill.

After removing multiple women from the list, he was left with Vaquer and Lynch.

I’m doing the unthinkable and I’m giving it to Stephanie Vaquer. I think we give it to the rookie. I don’t think rookies usually win this; they would win, like, Rookie of the Year. I think she’s doing a lot for the brand outside of wrestling just because of who she is and that representation matters. [8:54 onwards]
