Nick Aldis Blames Billy Corgan For Fan Exodus

Billy Corgan Nick Aldis

Nick Aldis thinks Billy Corgan is the reason the NWA’s fans “left in droves”.

Aldis and Corgan have been at each other’s throats over the past several days. Ever since Aldis’ departure ended up leaking out, there has been a lot of back-and-forth between the former 2-time NWA World Champion and the NWA’s owner.

Nick Aldis blamed his departure on a multitude of factors, with the whole Mickie James-EmPowerr situation being the catalyst. Since then, Corgan has questioned Aldis’ drawing capabilities and Aldis has fired back by criticizing Corgan’s inexperience in the wrestling business.

Others have weighed on this whole situation as well, including now-former world champion Trevor Murdoch, who is still friends with Aldis despite the circumstances.

Now the war appears to be escalating. Speaking on the NotSam Wrestling podcast, Nick Aldis went on to blame the NWA fans leaving squarely on Corgan himself:

“Because at first he was quite hands off quite remote, and was, you know, just sort of lending ideas and sort of notes here and there. And suddenly, it turned into something else. And try to be as nice as I can about this, he’s not very good at it. You know, and I can’t, I wish it wasn’t the case.

But, again, it’s not really for me to say, it’s for the audience to say, and my decision to leave has come from the fact that the audience have told us, the audience have left in droves. And, you know, it’s just not, it’s not a good decision to be there anymore. It’s not a viable option.”
