MJF Match For AEW WrestleDream Confirmed (SPOILER)

MJF AEW Dynamite

MJF is set for a bout at WrestleDream but it might not be one most were expecting.

MJF was in action at Dynamite Grand Slam as he put his AEW World Championship on the line against Samoa Joe. The Salt of the Earth had guaranteed that he’d choke Joe out after the challenger did the same to Adam Cole the previous week.

Cole had been dragged to the hospital bed of Roderick Strong earlier in the night but his presence proved pivotal during the main event as he ran to ringside to help MJF muster out of certain defeat while trapped in the Coquina Clutch.

MJF rallied and in the end, he did exactly what he said he would – albeit with some help from his wrist tape – as he choked Joe out to retain his gold.

MJF must now focus on WrestleDream

Heavy is the head that wears the crown and MJF has two to wear as both AEW World and ROH Tag Team Champion. On Rampage Grand Slam there was a four-way tag team match to find new challengers for Better Than You Bay-Bay and it was The Righteous – Vincent & Dutch – that overcame The Hardys, The Kingdom, and Best Friends to book their title match at AEW WrestleDream.

However, that match could be in jeopardy as Adam Cole appeared to suffer an injury on Dynamite leaping to ringside to help his partner which led to Cole being taken to hospital after the show. It is not currently known if he will be cleared to compete or the extent of his injury.

The confirmed card for AEW WrestleDream on October 1st so far is –

  • Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
  • Hangman Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland
  • FTR (c) vs. Aussie Open – AEW Tag Team Championship
  • Better Than You Bay-Bay (c) vs. The Righteous – ROH Tag Team Championship
