MJF Pays Hilarious Tribute To Bret Hart At AEW Grand Slam

MJF took inspiration from The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be.

Dynamite Grand Slam gave the AEW World Champion the chance to defend his title in his home state of New York for the first time in his career.

A tournament took place to find a challenger for the show with Samoa Joe coming through Jeff Hardy, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Roderick Strong to get his title shot. The match saw Joe come within a dropped arm away from winning the gold but Adam Cole managed to make it back from Roderick Strong’s hospital bed to help motivate his best friend to carry on. In the process, it seemed Cole had suffered an injury and had to go to hospital after the show.

However, Cole did manage to distract Samoa Joe long enough to allow MJF to unravel his wrist tape to choke out Joe for the win just as he promised. After the match, Joe offered a handshake to the champion which was accepted.

MJF pays homage to Bret Hart

However, earlier in the night a vignette played which showed MJF come across a young fan that would remind long-time wrestling fans of a famous promo video from WWE which showed Bret Hart doing the same.

The shot-for-shot remake saw the AEW World Champion hand over his Burberry scarf to the youngster while Hart had originally handed over his trademark pink shades. However, MJF added his own twist by whispering to the young fan in front of his dad that he was adopted. He is our scumbag after all.
