LA Knight Should Have Had Bigger Role At SummerSlam Says Former WWE Writer
One former WWE writer believes that the company should’ve done even more with LA Knight at SummerSlam.
LA Knight has become one of the most popular superstars in WWE right now. He has been compared to the best talkers of the past, with some going so far as to compare him to The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Because of this sudden explosion in Knight’s popularity, some think that WWE should use him more prominently for as hold as that popularity holds.
This includes Freddie Prinze Jr, who discussed Knight’s SummerSlam appearance on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast.
Freddie Prinze Jr. wants to see even more of LA Knight on WWE programming
At SummerSlam, LA Knight was one of the few wrestlers to actually get an entrance for the show’s battle royale, which he ended up winning. But Prinze thinks that getting a big win in such a match isn’t enough for LA Knight. Instead, LA Knight should’ve been in a singles feud instead.
“To me, he’s bigger and better than this. Yes, he should have won it, and it shouldn’t be a surprise — but he should have been in a better storyline period. I don’t know — it was a cool match … they were able to tell three or four storylines, so don’t get me wrong, I just didn’t think LA Knight needed this win.
I would rather see him beating up Austin Theory for the United States Championship.”
On the RAW after SummerSlam, Knight interrupted the Miz which led to Miz cutting a scathing promo similar to that famous one he cut on Daniel Bryan many years ago. The promo segment ended with Knight dropping Miz with his finisher and another loud pop from the audience.
