Kairi Sane Returning To WWE Partly Due To Triple H
A new report sheds light on Kairi Sane’s decision to return to WWE.
In early August, it was reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite that former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane was on her way back to WWE. While Sane’s contract with the sports entertainment giant expired in 2021, she hasn’t been seen in the company since July of 2020, when she returned to her native Japan amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sane took part in a press conference on August 6th, stating that she would be going on “indefinite hiatus” after her final scheduled match for All Japan Pro Wrestling on September 8th. At the time, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that there was “more to the story.”
Why Is Kairi Sane Coming Back To WWE?
Writing in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer provided updated information on Sane’s return to WWE, noting that her decision to return was partly due to her trust in Triple H as head of creative. Meltzer wrote:
“Regarding the return of Kairi Sane, the basic issue is that she was and still is very close to Rossy Ogawa. Bushiroad wanted her exclusive. She wanted to work more dates but Bushiroad wanted exclusivity regarding the more dates which would also mean more money. Other things also came up as mentioned last week.
She then talked about returning to WWE and had thoughts about returning, particularly with the success Sky has had there. She talked with those close to her who supported her leaving with the idea that if she doesn’t, she later in life would always have questions or regrets about it. She also felt things for her would be better with Levesque in charge of creative.”
In a new update, Sane has seen been announced for another date in Japan.
