John Cena Working With Rising WWE Star
John Cena has made a big impression on one WWE star.
Trick Williams is currently enjoying his second reign at NXT Champion after beating Ethan Page on October 1st. Williams is widely regarded as one of WWE’s brightest talents with many tipping him to eventually make a big impact on the main roster.
During his young career, Williams has already rubbed shoulders with some of WWE’s biggest names, including John Cena. The pair appeared on-screen together along with Carmelo Hayes on an episode of NXT in October 2023. However, Cena has been doing his bit to help Williams off camera too.
Speaking to Cameron Hawkins of The Undisputed, Williams looked back on learning from the WWE legend.
“We’ve had multiple talks, but I would say the most important thing I’ve learned from him is being able to listen and perform at the same time. He knows what every sound means, what every sound means that he should be, how he should respond and react to everything. … But just being able to listen and react accordingly to what the people are giving you, I think, is the most [important] thing that I’ve ever heard,”
John Cena Tipped To Break WWE Record
Meanwhile, Jonathan Coachman has said he believes John Cena will become World Champion one more time before he retires. Should Cena win the gold before he retires at the end of 2025 he’ll have been World Champion a record 17 times.
Cena has shared the record with Ric Flair since 2017.
While giving his thoughts on Cena, Coachman suggested that WWE would like him to surpass Flair because they no longer want the Nature Boy at the “top of the mountain.”
