AEW Star Hits Out At Opportunities Given To Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone has got on the wrong side of an AEW champion.

Since arriving in AEW, Mercedes Mone has been positioned as one of the biggest stars in the company. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Mone has been all but untouchable, remaining undefeated since making her debut at Double or Nothing in May.

However, her presence hasn’t gone down well with everyone.

While Mone has been defeating all challengers as the TBS Champion, Mariah May has enjoyed her own impressive rise since joining the company. After spending time as Toni Storm’s faithful sidekick, May broke out on her own and eventually defeated Storm to claim the Women’s World Title.

During an appearance on Niko Exxtra, May claimed Mone has been given a lot more opportunities than her, but added that it doesn’t matter as she always finds a way to shine.

“I think she’s been given a lot more than me. I’d love to have more time and more opportunities, but I’ve always been underestimated. In one minute, I can make you remember me. In one minute, I can get a million impressions. So that’s fine—stack the deck against me. I always shine.”

When asked whether she gets on with Mone in the locker room, May claimed they don’t share one.

“I wouldn’t say ‘we’—we don’t share a locker room. I don’t see her at all. She tried to talk smack and say she wants me to be a ‘money shot’ girl, but you know what? I will—because she needs the help.”

“Guess what? I’m a top merch seller; she’s not. We released some All In plaques from all of our matches. Mine sold out in five minutes, and last time I checked, hers is still sitting there.

Clearly, people want to forget about that match, and honestly, I don’t blame them. But hey, keep talking smack. I’m the world champion—you know where to find me.”

Mariah May Has No Love For Mercedes Mone

During an earlier interview, Mariah May claimed Mercedes Mone had done little to help the AEW women’s division despite regularly talking about how she loves the company. It was during this conversation that May also called out the star for having her own locker room.

May was most recently in action on the December 11th edition of Dynamite where she successfully defended the Women’s Title against Mina Shirakawa. After the match, the British star was confronted by the returning Toni Storm.

Meanwhile, Mercedes Mone is set for her own match with Shirakawa at Wrestle Dynasty in January. The match was set after Mone defeated Hazuki at NJPW Strong Style Evolved.
