John Cena Reveals His Role In Barbie Movie, Shows Off Unique Look [PHOTO]

John Cena’s acting career continues to soar as he makes an appearance in the highly-anticipated Barbie movie.

Like Dwayne Johnson and Dave Bautista before him, John Cena has successfully made the transition from the squared circle to the bright lights of Hollywood. The star is riding high after reprising his role as Jakob Toretto in Fast X, and he has multiple other projects in the works, including a Vacation Friends sequel, starring as Rocksteady in an upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, and donning a skirt and heels to star alongside Zac Efron in Ricky Stanicky. He also wowed fans as the lead in DC’s Peacemaker.

The Greta Gerwig-directed Barbie premieres this weekend, with Margot Robbie starring in the titular role with Ryan Gosling playing her Ken. Cena also appears in the highly-anticipated film, and he’s now revealed that he plays the role of a mermaid. A photo of the star shows him wearing a blond wig and seashell necklace.

Speaking in a behind the scenes featurette, Cena had this to say about taking on such a unique role:

“I was blown away with the concept. I think it’s going to be a movie that all audiences enjoy. I think it’s going to be a movie that evokes conversation. And I think it’s going to be beautifully, visually appealing and I think the ideas behind it — I think the audience will walk away with a mixed bag of opinions, which I think is the greatest form of entertainment; when you have, like, one universal feel about a project, it’s not that it’s bad, but I think when people can get into fiery debate about something, I think that that’s good. I like that versatility, I guess.”
