John Cena recently hinted at his next opponent in WWE.

The 48-year-old, took to social media, name dropping AJ Styles while asking the WWE Universe its thoughts on the potential dream match.

He also competed at Wrestlepalooza on Saturday, where he opened the event with Brock Lesnar as his opponent.

Cena is on his retirement tour with 5 appearances left. On the tour, he has broken the record of holding the most number of World Championships and renewed long-standing rivalries, including one with Lesnar.

Unfortunately, the 17-time champion was decimated by The Beast Incarnate, who took all of 8 minutes and 50 seconds to win the bout.

With only a handful of appearances remaining, John Cena is looking forward instead of wallowing in sorrow about his recent defeat.

He and AJ Styles have a rich feud, emphasized by mutual respect and intense competition. Between 2016 and 2018, the duo were involved in several singles matches, often rated highly by critics.

At 48, even Styles is self-admittedly nearing towards the end of wrestling career, having previously claimed that he does not see himself wrestling as a 50-year-old.

John Cena Writes To Triple H About Listening To WWE Fans

Hours after his initial tweet about a potential match with AJ Styles, John Cena took to X again, this time urging Paul “Triple H” Levesque to listen to the fans.

He also reiterated that he does not handpick his opponents.

On the other hand, Styles was involved in a rivalry with Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio, but the WWE creative appears to have put it on the back burner.
